Abstract

Devices, methods and computer readable mediums storing a program causing a computer to execute a process for interacting with targets on a display, particularly in regards to devices utilizing a multi-touch display that are driven by gestures. The use of such devices, methods, and computer readable mediums storing a program allows the user to interact with devices through the use of multi-touch displays.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An information processing apparatus comprising:
a display configured to sense a gesture; a detector configured to detect a plurality of gestures on the display; and a processor configured to process a plurality of predetermined actions in response to the detector detecting a plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a plurality of activation points near an edge of the display, and configured to process a reserved action in response to the detector detecting a reserved gesture not beginning at any points near the edge of the display, wherein the plurality of predetermined actions include a first predetermined action corresponding to one of the plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a first activation point near the edge of the display and a second predetermined action corresponding to another one of the plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a second activation point near the edge of the display, the second activation point being set on a different position from a position on which the first activation point is set.

2 . The information processing apparatus in claim 1 ,
wherein the first predetermined action is not the same as the second predetermined action.

3 . The information processing apparatus in claim 1 ,
wherein the processor is configured to, in response to the display sensing an activation-point gesture of the plurality of activation-point gestures, during the activation-point gesture, cause the display to display that the activation-point gesture is activated.

4 . The information processing apparatus in claim 1 ,
wherein each of the plurality of activation-point gestures continues from the respective activation point to an inner portion of the display.

5 . The information processing apparatus in claim 1 ,
wherein the plurality of activation-point gestures and the reserved gesture are performed independently.

6 . The information processing apparatus in claim 1 ,
wherein the processor is configured to refrain from processing the first predetermined action in response to the display sensing the reserved gesture.

7 . The information processing apparatus in claim 1 ,
wherein the reserved gesture is the same as the one of the plurality of activation-point gestures or is the same as the other one of the plurality of activation-point gestures, and wherein the reserved action is not the same as the first predetermined action and is not the same as the second predetermined action.

8 . The information processing apparatus in claim 1 ,
wherein at least one of the plurality of activation points is not explicitly displayed.

9 . A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program causing a computer to execute a process, the process comprising:
detecting a plurality of gestures on a display; and processing a plurality of predetermined actions in response to detecting a plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a plurality of activation points near an edge of the display, and processing a reserved action in response to detecting a reserved gesture not beginning at any points near the edge of the display, wherein the plurality of predetermined actions include a first predetermined action corresponding to one of the plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a first activation point near the edge of the display and a second predetermined action corresponding to another one of the plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a second activation point near the edge of the display, the second activation point being set on a different position from a position on which the first activation point is set.

10 . The non-transitory computer readable medium in claim 9 , wherein the first predetermined action is not the same as the second predetermined action.

         11 . The non-transitory computer readable medium in claim 9 ,
wherein the process further comprises, in response to detecting an activation-point gesture of the plurality of activation-point gestures, during the activation-point gesture, displaying that the activation-point gesture is activated.

         12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium in claim 9 ,
wherein each of the plurality of activation-point gestures continues from the respective activation point to an inner portion of the display.

         13 . The non-transitory computer readable medium in claim 9 ,
wherein the plurality of activation-point gestures and the reserved gesture are performed independently.

         14 . The non-transitory computer readable medium in claim 9 ,
wherein the process further comprises refraining from processing the first predetermined action in response to the display sensing the reserved gesture.

         15 . The non-transitory computer readable medium in claim 9 ,
wherein the reserved gesture is the same as the one of the plurality of activation-point gestures or is the same as the other one of the plurality of activation-point gestures, and wherein the reserved action is not the same as the first predetermined action and is not the same as the second predetermined action.

         16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium in claim 9 ,
wherein at least one of the plurality of activation points is not explicitly displayed.

17 . An information processing method, comprising:
detecting a plurality of gestures on a display; and processing a plurality of predetermined actions in response to detecting a plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a plurality of activation points near an edge of the display, and processing a reserved action in response to detecting a reserved gesture not beginning at any points near the edge of the display, wherein the plurality of predetermined actions include a first predetermined action corresponding to one of the plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a first activation point near the edge of the display and a second predetermined action corresponding to another one of the plurality of activation-point gestures beginning at a second activation point near the edge of the display, the second activation point being set on a different position from a position on which the first activation point is set.

18 . The method in claim 17 , wherein the first predetermined action is not the same as the second predetermined action.

         19 . The method in claim 17 ,
wherein the process further comprises, in response to detecting an activation-point gesture of the plurality of activation-point gestures, during the activation-point gesture, displaying that the activation-point gesture is activated.

         20 . The method in claim 17 ,
wherein each of the plurality of activation-point gestures continues from the respective activation point to an inner portion of the display.

         21 . The method in claim 17 ,
