Abstract

A projector includes a first projection unit that projects a first image, a first imager that captures a second image projected by another projector, and a first calculation unit. The first calculation unit calculates, from captured image data of the second image captured by the first imager and interval information indicating an interval between the other projector and the projector, a first distance between a surface on which the second image is projected and the other projector, or a second distance between an area in which the second image is projected and the projector. The first projection unit controls projection of the first image based on the first distance or the second distance.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 17 . (canceled)

18 . A method of calculating a distance by using a projector, the method comprising:
projecting, by using a first projector, a first image on a surface; capturing, by using an imager, the first image projected on the surface; and calculating a first distance between the screen on which the first image is projected and the first projector based on captured image data of the first image and interval information, the interval information indicating an interval between the first projector and the imager.

19 . The method according to claim 18 , wherein
the imager is included in a second projector, and the method further comprises calculating a second distance between an area of the screen in which the first image is projected and the second projector based on the captured image data and the interval information.

20 . The method according to claim 18 , further comprising calculating angle information based on the captured image data, the angle information indicating an angle between a projection direction in which the first projector projects the first image on the screen and an image capturing direction in which the imager captures the first image,
wherein the first distance is calculated based on the angle information and the interval information.

21 . The method according to claim 18 , further comprising calculating the interval information based on position information of the first projector and position information of the imager.

22 . An projector system comprising:
a first projector configured to project a first image on a screen; a second projector configured to project a second image, the second projector including an imager configured to capture the first image projected on the screen; and a calculator configured to calculate a first distance between the screen on which the first image is projected and the first projector based on captured image data of the first image and interval information, the interval information indicating an interval between the first projector and the imager, wherein the second projector is configured to control projection of the second image in accordance with the calculated first distance.

23 . The projector system according to claim 22 , wherein
 the calculator is configured to:
calculate angle information based on the captured image data, the angle information indicating an angle between a projection direction in which the first projector projects the first image on the screen and an image capturing direction in which the imager captures the first image, and
calculate the first distance based on the angle information and the interval information.

24 . The projector system according to claim 22 , wherein the calculator is configured to calculate the interval information based on position information of the first projector and position information of the imager.

25 . An projector system comprising:
a first projector configured to project a first image on a screen; a second projector configured to project a second image, the second projector including an imager configured to capture the first image projected on the screen; and a calculator configured to calculate a second distance between an area of the screen in which the first image is projected and the second projector based on captured image data of the first image and interval information, the interval information indicating an interval between the first projector and the imager, wherein the second projector is configured to control projection of the second image in accordance with the calculated second distance.

26 . The projector system according to claim 25 , wherein
 the calculator is configured to:
calculate angle information based on the captured image data, the angle information indicating an angle between a projection direction in which the first projector projects the first image on the screen and an image capturing direction in which the imager captures the first image, and
calculate the second distance based on the angle information and the interval information.

27 . The projector system according to claim 25 , wherein the calculator is configured to calculate the interval information based on position information of the first projector and position information of the imager.
