Abstract
A method for using a baking tray includes providing a baking tray, the baking tray comprising a baking cup formed in a baking tray body, the baking cup defining a baking cavity and an aperture formed through the baking cup; inserting a dough into the baking cavity; and baking the dough in the baking tray to form a baked good.

1 . A method for using a baking tray comprising:
providing a baking tray, the baking tray comprising a baking cup formed in a baking tray body, the baking cup defining a baking cavity and an aperture formed through the baking cup; inserting a dough into the baking cavity; and baking the dough in the baking tray to form a baked good.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein baking the dough in the baking tray to form a baked good comprises preheating an oven to a desired temperature, inserting the baking tray into the oven for a desired time period, and removing the baking tray from the oven.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising cooling the baked good in the baking tray and removing the baked good from the baking cavity.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the baking cup defines a planar, polygonal bottom surface, a top opening opposite the bottom surface, and at least one planar side face extending therebetween.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the aperture is formed in the bottom surface of the baking cup.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein a width of the bottom surface is at least about one half of an inch, and wherein a width of the aperture is at least about one eighth of an inch.
7 . The method of claim 4 , wherein a width of the baking cup at the top opening is greater than a width of the baking cup at the bottom surface, and wherein each of the planar side faces tapers in width from the top opening to the bottom surface.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein each of the planar side faces are equal in height, and wherein the width of the bottom surface is less than the height of each of the planar side faces.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the height of each planar side face is about equal to or greater than the width of the baking cup at the top opening.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein a depth of the baking cup is defined between the top opening and the bottom surface, and wherein the depth of the baking cup is about equal to or less than one inch.
11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein a depth of the baking cup is defined between the top opening and the bottom surface, and wherein the depth of the baking cup is about equal to or greater than one inch.
12 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the at least one planar side face comprises at least three of the planar side faces.
13 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the at least one planar side face comprises exactly five of the planar side faces, and wherein the bottom surface defines a pentagonal shape.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the top opening defines a pentagonal shape.
15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the baking tray comprises silicone.
16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein;
the dough is a shortbread dough comprising butter, flour, sugar, and salt; and the baked good is a shortbread.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the shortbread defines a top shortbread surface; a bottom shortbread surface; and at least one side shortbread surface extending between the top shortbread surface and the bottom shortbread surface, wherein the top shortbread surface defines a width that is greater than the bottom shortbread surface.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the shortbread defines a maximum width of at least 0.625 inches.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein each of the top shortbread surface and the bottom shortbread surface define a polygonal shape.
