Abstract
A display apparatus and a method of manufacturing the same, including a circuit board; and a plurality of pixels formed on the circuit board. At least one of a blue light emitting diode chip, a red light emitting diode part, and a green light emitting diode chip is disposed in each of the pixels, and the blue light emitting diode chip, the red light emitting diode part and the green light emitting diode chip are covered by a coupling structure.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A display apparatus comprising:
a circuit board; and a plurality of pixels disposed on the circuit board, each pixel comprising: a blue light emitting diode part, a green light emitting diode part, and a red light emitting diode part; and an opaque material portion disposed to surround side of at least one of the blue light emitting diode part, the green light emitting diode part, and the red light emitting diode part, wherein: each of the blue light emitting diode part, the green light emitting diode chip part, and the red light emitting diode part comprises a light emitting diode chip; and at least one of the blue light emitting diode part, the green light emitting diode part, and the red light emitting diode part further comprises a phosphor portion.
2 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the light emitting diode chips of the blue, green, and red light emitting parts are configured to emit blue or ultraviolet light.
3 . The display apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the green light emitting diode part comprises green phosphors, and the red light emitting diode part comprises red phosphors.
4 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the phosphor portion covers upper and side surfaces of the corresponding light emitting diode chip.
5 . The display apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the opaque material portion surrounds side surfaces of the phosphor portion and is configured to prevent light from being emitted through side surfaces of the phosphor portion.
6 . The display apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the opaque material portion comprises high reflectivity (HR) material.
7 . The display apparatus of claim 5 , wherein a distance between the opaque material portion at a first side of the phosphor portion and the opaque material portion at a second side of the phosphor opposite to the first side is greater than a width of the light emitting diode chip.
8 . The display apparatus of claim 5 , further comprising a color filter covering upper and side surfaces of the phosphor portion.
9 . The display apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the opaque material portion is disposed on the color filter.
10 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the blue light emitting diode parts, the green light emitting diode parts, and the red light emitting diode parts are arranged in rows and columns.
11 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the circuit board comprises:
a common electrode commonly electrically connected to the blue light emitting diode part, the green light emitting diode part, and the red light emitting diode part; and individual electrodes electrically connected to the blue light emitting diode part, the green light emitting diode part, and the red light emitting diode part, respectively.
12 . The display apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the light emitting diode chip comprises:
a light emitting structure including an active layer; an n-type electrode and a p-type electrode disposed on the light emitting structure; an encapsulation portion coving the n-type and p-type electrodes; and an n-bump and a p-bump electrically connected to the n-type electrode and the p-type electrode, respectively, through the encapsulation portion, wherein: the common electrode is electrically connected to the p-bumps of the light emitting diode chips of the blue, green, and red light emitting diode parts; and the individual electrodes are electrically connected to the n-bumps of the light emitting diode chips of the blue, green, and red light emitting diode parts, respectively.
13 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein:
the blue light emitting diode part, the green light emitting diode part, and the red light emitting diode part further comprise a substrate on which the light emitting diode chip is disposed; and the substrate comprises a first substrate electrode and a second substrate electrode disposed on the substrate and electrically connected to the light emitting diode chip.
14 . The display apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the phosphor portion is disposed on the substrate.
15 . The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the phosphor portion covers the first and second substrate electrodes.
16 . The display apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the opaque material portion surrounds side surfaces of the phosphor portion and the substrate.
17 . The display apparatus of claim 16 , further comprising a color filter covering upper and side surfaces of the phosphor portion and the substrate,
wherein the opaque material portion is disposed on the color filter.
18 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the light emitting diode chip comprises:
a light emitting structure including an active layer; an n-type electrode and a p-type electrode disposed on the light emitting structure; an encapsulation portion covering the n-type and p-type electrodes; and an n-bump and a p-bump electrically connected to the n-type electrode and the p-type electrode, respectively, through the encapsulation portion.
19 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the phosphor portion includes at least one type of phosphor and a transparent material or a translucent material.
20 . The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the phosphor portion includes at least one of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), polyimide, poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), and a ceramic material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
