Wireless Communication Methods
Abstract
Various wireless communication methods are provided for controlling two or more wireless devices. In one embodiment, various processes optimize the wireless communication, especially when multiple devices are present in a system or a network. In another embodiment, various controlling devices are accommodated in a network of devices at different points in time. The speed at which the new controlling device comes into a range of the networked devices is improved with existing signatures of different wireless protocols or devices present in the network. In another embodiment, a change in the signal strength of a wireless device can be used to detect an object or person, such as an intruder.

1 . A wireless device comprising:
a controller/processor; a wireless transceiver circuit communicably coupled to the controller/processor; an antenna communicably coupled to the wireless transceiver circuit; and wherein the controller/processor is configured to (1) exchange one or more communications with another wireless device, and (2) stop broadcasting signals after receiving a stop broadcast signal, and thereafter resume broadcasting signals after (a) a specified duration or expiration within the stop broadcast signal, or (b) completion of the one or more communications with the another wireless device, or (c) receiving a resume broadcast signal.
2 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the one or more communications or the stop broadcast signal or the resume broadcast signal is transmitted or received directly or indirectly via a network.
3 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the stop broadcast signal has a triggering event.
4 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the broadcast signals include an identification number of the wireless device.
5 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the controller/processor is further configured to periodically send the broadcast signals.
6 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the one or more communications satisfy one or more parameters based on one or more user requirements, program requirements, device requirements, network requirements, or a combination thereof.
7 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , further comprising one or more LEDs, one or more buttons, a reset switch, one or more sensors, a battery, or a real time clock.
8 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein a signal strength is checked between the wireless device and one or more other wireless devices, or between the wireless device and a controlling device.
9 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein a signal power of the wireless device is increased or decreased.
10 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the wireless transceiver comprises a wireless processor and a wireless signal amplifier, and a signal gain or an amplification gain of the wireless processor or the wireless signal amplifier are set as and when required.
11 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein the wireless device or a functionality of the wireless device is recognized by a firmware number or a parameter set within the firmware.
12 . The wireless device as recited in claim 1 , wherein a firmware update is performed on the wireless device.
13 . A method for controlling a wireless device comprising:
receiving a stop broadcast signal from a controlling device; stopping all broadcast signals; and resuming the broadcast signals after (1) a specified duration or expiration within the stop broadcast signal, or (2) completion of one or more communications with the controlling device, or (3) receiving a resume broadcast signal from the controlling device.
14 . The method as recited in claim 13 , wherein the one or more communications or the stop broadcast signal or the resume broadcast signal is transmitted or received directly or indirectly via a network.
15 . A system comprising:
two or more wireless devices; each wireless device comprising a controller/processor, a wireless transceiver circuit communicably coupled to the controller/processor, and an antenna communicably coupled to the wireless transceiver circuit; and wherein the controller/processor of each wireless device is configured to (1) exchange one or more communications with at least one of the wireless devices, and (2) stop broadcasting signals after receiving a stop broadcast signal, and thereafter resume broadcasting signals after (a) a specified duration or expiration within the stop broadcast signal, or (b) completion of the one or more communications with the at least one of the wireless devices, or (c) receiving a resume broadcast signal.
16 . The system as recited in claim 15 , wherein the one or more communications or the stop broadcast signal or the resume broadcast signal is transmitted or received directly or indirectly via a network.
17 . The system as recited in claim 15 , wherein the stop broadcast signal has a triggering event.
18 . The system as recited in claim 15 , wherein the broadcast signals include an identification number of the wireless device.
19 . The system as recited in claim 15 , wherein the controller/processor is further configured to periodically send the broadcast signals.
20 . The system as recited in claim 15 , further comprising one or more LEDs, one or more buttons, a reset switch, one or more sensors, a battery, or a real time clock.
21 . The system as recited in claim 15 , wherein a signal strength is checked between the wireless device and one or more other wireless devices, or between the wireless device and a controlling device.
