Abstract

A container having a body with a closed lower portion, a middle portion adapted for storing contents, and a closeable upper portion, wherein a plurality of immediately adjacent circular apertures have been formed in and through the material of the closable upper portion; and an item adapted to cooperate with the closeable open upper portion, wherein the item includes identifying indicia regarding the stored contents, wherein the item cooperates with the closeable upper portion to make the closeable upper portion tamper-resistant after closure thereof, wherein the item includes a strip of paper or similar material having adhesive deposited on one side thereof, and wherein when the strip of paper is applied to the closable upper portion by folding the adhesive-bearing side of the strip over onto itself, the adhesive passes through each aperture in the plurality of immediately adjacent apertures causing the strip of paper to stick to itself.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 10 . (canceled)

11 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the item adapted to cooperate with the closeable, perforated, and neatly tearable upper portion of the container includes a centrally placed guideline running lengthwise along the item for facilitating proper positioning of the item on the closeable, perforated, and neatly tearable upper portion of the container.

         12 - 14 . (canceled)

         15 . A tamper-resistant storage item, comprising:
 (a) a paper or plastic container having a body with a closed lower portion, a middle portion adapted for storing contents, and a closeable, perforated, and neatly tearable upper portion, wherein a plurality of immediately adjacent apertures having a predetermined geometry have been formed in and through the material of the closable, perforated, and neatly tearable upper portion to create the perforations; and (b) a removable item that includes identifying indicia regarding the stored contents, wherein the removable item cooperates with the closeable, perforated, and neatly tearable upper portion to make the container tamper-resistant after closure thereof, wherein the removable item includes a strip of paper or similar material having adhesive deposited on one side thereof, and wherein when the strip of paper is applied to the closeable, perforated, and neatly tearable upper portion by folding the adhesive-bearing side of the strip over onto itself, the adhesive passes through the apertures in the plurality of immediately adjacent apertures causing the strip of paper or similar material to stick to itself, thereby sealing the container in a tamper-resistant manner in that the container can only be re-opened by pulling upward on the item and tearing the upper portion of the container along the plurality of immediately adjacent apertures, thereby damaging the container.

16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the container is an envelope, sack, or bag.

17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the item adapted to cooperate with the closeable upper portion of the container is a receipt printed when the contents of the container are initially purchased and placed within the container and wherein the receipt includes an end portion thereof that may be torn off and retained.

         18 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the adhesive is a self-adhesive.

19 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the adhesive is a rubber-based or latex-based adhesive capable of adhering to itself.

20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the body of the container further includes additional information regarding the contents of the bag or the source of the contents of the bag printed thereof.
