Detachable pendulum style tool carrier

Abstract

A wearable tool carrier for wearing by a user to place tools in proximity to the wearer to enable ergonomic use. The wearable tool carrier comprises a strap member configured for placement around the neck of the wearer having a padded region and a first fastener configured for detachable coupling with a corresponding second fastener on a carrier portion. The carrier portion having a plurality of pockets sized to retain a plurality of tools and tool types. A swivel member is in communication with the first and second fasteners to enable rotation of the carrier member during use. Accordingly, the user can easily swap out carrier portions depending upon the task and enables use of the carrier within tight or confined spaces.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A wearable tool carrying device for a wearer, the device comprising:
 a strap member, the strap member having a length and a first fastener, the strap member adapted to be placed around a neck of the wearer;   a carrier portion, the carrier portion having a plurality of pockets and a second fastener, the second fastener configured for a coupling with the first fastener in a detachable assembly; and   a swivel member, the swivel member coupled to at least one of the first fastener and the second fastener to allow rotation of the carrier portion during use, wherein the device is configured for wearing and pendulum like hanging during use.   
     
     
         2 . The wearable tool carrying device as in  claim 1 , wherein the strap member includes a movable pad along a length of the strap member, wherein the movable pad is configured to provide comfort to the wearer during use. 
     
     
         3 . The wearable tool carrying device as in  claim 2 , wherein the strap member length is adjustable. 
     
     
         4 . The wearable tool carrying device as in  claim 1 , wherein the carrier portion has a first side and a second side with each of the first side and the second side having a plurality of pockets. 
     
     
         5 . The wearable tool carrying device as in  claim 4 , wherein the carrier portion includes a central cavity, the central cavity positioned between the first side and the second side and defining an opening on an upper side to provide access to the central cavity. 
     
     
         6 . The wearable tool carrying device as in  claim 5 , wherein the carrier portion is comprised of a fabric material. 
     
     
         7 . A tool carrying and organizing device configured for wearing around a neck of a wearer, the tool carrying device comprising:
 a strap member, the strap member having a length culminating in an end to define a closed loop, wherein the strap length is adjustable to define a circumference of the strap member, the strap member having a first fastener positioned adjacent to the end;   a carrier portion, the carrier portion having a first side, a second side opposed the first side, and an upper side, each of the first side and the second side having a plurality of pockets, a second fastener is positioned on the upper side and configured for a coupling with the first fastener in a detachable assembly; and   a swivel member, the swivel member coupled to at least one of the first fastener and the second fastener to allow rotation of the carrier portion during use, wherein the device is configured for wearing and pendulum like hanging during use.   
     
     
         8 . The tool carrying and organizing device as in  claim 7 , wherein the strap member includes a movable pad along the length of the strap member, wherein the movable pad is configured to provide comfort to the wearer during use of the device. 
     
     
         9 . The tool carrying and organizing device as in  claim 7 , wherein the carrier portion includes a central cavity, the central cavity positioned between the first side and the second side and defining an opening on the upper side to provide access to the central cavity. 
     
     
         10 . The tool carrying and organizing device as in  claim 7 , wherein the carrier portion is comprised of a fabric material. 
     
     
         11 . The tool carrying and organizing device as in  claim 7 , wherein the first fastener and the second fastener comprise a buckle. 
     
     
         12 . A carrying device for tools configured for wearing around a neck of a user, the carrying device comprising:
 a strap member, the strap member having an adjustable length culminating in an end to define a closed loop, wherein the strap length is adjustable to define a circumference of the strap member, the strap member having a first fastener;   a carrier portion, the carrier portion having a first side, a second side opposed the first side, a central cavity positioned between the first side and the second side, and an upper side, each of the first side and the second side having a plurality of pockets with the central cavity being a pocket, a second fastener is positioned on the upper side and configured for a coupling with the first fastener in a detachable assembly; and   a swivel member, the swivel member coupled to the first fastener to allow rotation of the carrier portion during use, wherein the device is configured for wearing and pendulum like hanging during use.   
     
     
         13 . The carrying device as in  claim 12 , wherein the strap member includes a movable pad configured for movement along the length of the strap member, wherein the movable pad is configured for alignment with neck region during use to provide comfort to the wearer during use of the device. 
     
     
         14 . The carrying device as in  claim 13 , wherein the swivel member is integrated within the first fastener. 
     
     
         15 . The carrying device as in  claim 12 , wherein the swivel member is coupled to the second fastener. 
     
     
         16 . The carrying device as in  claim 15 , wherein the swivel member is integrated within the second fastener. 
     
     
         17 . The carrying device as in  claim 12 , wherein a second swivel member is coupled to the second fastener. 
     
     
         18 . The carrying device as in  claim 12 , wherein the carrier portion is comprised of a fabric material. 
     
     
         19 . The carrying device as in  claim 12 , wherein the first fastener is positioned adjacent to the end of the strap member and the second fastener is positioned adjacent to the upper side of the carrier portion. 
     
     
         20 . The tool carrying device as in  claim 12 , wherein the first fastener and the second fastener comprise a buckle.
