Therapeutic treatments of a tumor expressing pT346 PDK1, including glioma expressing pT346 PDK1, are disclosed.

11 : A method of detecting the presence of a hypoxic glioma tumor in a human subject comprising
isolating a biological sample from the human subject and detecting the presence of pT346 PDK1 in the biological sample, wherein the presence of pT346 PDK1 indicates the presence of a hypoxic glioma tumor.
12 : The method according to claim 11 , wherein the pT346 PDK1 level in the biological sample is compared to a level of pT346 PDK1 in normoxic cells.
13 . The method according to claim 11 , wherein the biological sample is a tissue biopsy or blood sample.
14 . The method according to claim 11 , wherein the detecting comprises contacting the biological sample with an anti-pT346 antibody and detecting binding between pT346 PDK1 and the antibody.
15 . The method according to claim 11 , wherein a higher level of pT346 PDK1 in the biological sample compared to a control indicates the presence or increase of the hypoxic glioma tumor.
