Abstract

A method for constructing wooden framing for a structure is provided. The method includes locating a base on a horizontal surface, providing a wooden vertical framing support element on the base, installing a horizontal support member between the wooden vertical framing support element and one other wooden vertical framing support element, adjusting at least one of the base and the wooden vertical framing support element to have precise spacing between the wooden vertical framing support element and the one other wooden vertical framing support element, and securing the base to the horizontal surface and the wooden vertical framing support element to the base.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . A method for constructing wooden framing for a structure, comprising:
locating a base on a horizontal surface; providing a wooden vertical framing support element on the base; installing a horizontal support member between the wooden vertical framing support element and one other wooden vertical framing support element; adjusting at least one of the base and the wooden vertical framing support element to have precise spacing between the wooden vertical framing support element and the one other wooden vertical framing support element; and securing the base to the horizontal surface and the wooden vertical framing support element to the base.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting comprises initially establishing an orientation and position of an upper portion of the wooden vertical framing support element remote from the base relative to one other wooden vertical framing support element.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising setting metal elements in the horizontal surface prior to said locating, wherein the base is initially positioned relative to the metal elements.

4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the metal elements comprise bolts, and the base includes openings to receive the bolts.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the base comprises at least one vertical surface adjoined thereto, wherein said securing comprises attaching the vertical surface to the wooden vertical framing support element.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising locating a further wooden vertical framing support element atop the wooden vertical framing support element, wherein said locating comprises making additional adjustments of the further wooden vertical framing support element.

7 . The method of claim 4 , wherein said securing comprises providing caps on the bolts.

8 . A method for constructing wooden framing for a structure, comprising:
positioning a base on a horizontal surface; providing a wooden vertical framing support element on the base; installing a horizontal support member between the wooden vertical framing support element and one other wooden vertical framing support element; adjusting at least one of the base, the wooden vertical framing support element, the horizontal support member, and the one other wooden vertical framing support element to have precise spacing between the one other wooden vertical framing support element and the wooden vertical framing support element; and securing the base to the horizontal surface and the wooden vertical framing support element to the base using securing hardware.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein said adjusting comprises initially establishing an orientation and position of an upper portion of the wooden vertical framing support element remote from the base relative to the one other wooden vertical framing support element.

10 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising setting metal elements in the horizontal surface prior to said positioning, wherein the base is positioned relative to the metal elements.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the metal elements comprise bolts, and the base includes openings to receive the bolts.

12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the base comprises at least one vertical surface adjoined thereto, wherein said securing comprises attaching the vertical surface to the wooden vertical framing support element.

13 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising locating a further wooden vertical framing support element atop the wooden vertical framing support element, wherein said locating comprises making additional positional adjustments of the further wooden vertical framing support element.

14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said securing comprises providing caps on the bolts.

15 . A method for constructing wooden framing for a structure, comprising:
locating a base on a horizontal surface; providing a wooden vertical framing support element on the base; installing a horizontal support member between the wooden vertical framing support element and one other wooden vertical framing support element; adjusting at least one of the base and the wooden vertical framing support element to have precise spacing from the one other wooden vertical framing support element; and securing the base to the horizontal surface and the wooden vertical framing support element to the base; wherein the adjusting comprises initially establishing an orientation and position of an upper portion of the wooden vertical framing support element remote from the base relative to the one other wooden vertical framing support element.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein said adjusting positions the horizontal support member, the wooden vertical framing support element, the base, and the one other wooden vertical framing support element.

17 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising setting metal elements in the horizontal surface prior to said locating, wherein the base is positioned relative to the metal elements.

18 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the base comprises at least one vertical surface adjoined thereto, wherein said securing comprises attaching the vertical surface to the wooden vertical framing support element.

19 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising locating a further wooden vertical framing support element atop the wooden vertical framing support element, wherein said locating comprises making additional adjustments of the further wooden vertical framing support element.
