Claims

Abstract

A hair grasping device comprising a handle and a grasping mechanism on an end of the handle. The grasping mechanism includes a finger having a handle end and a grasping end and a hair grip extending from the grasping end of the finger. The hair grip and the finger are moveable with respect to one another between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position and the hair grip is operably coupled with the finger when in the hair holding position.

1 . A hair grasping device comprising:
 a handle;   a first finger extending from the handle, wherein the first finger has a width;   a first hair grip slidably coupled to the first finger to be movable with respect to the first finger between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position;   a second finger extending from the handle and spaced apart from the first finger a distance of at least the width of the first finger; and   a second hair grip slidably coupled to the second finger to be movable with respect to the second finger between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position;   wherein the first finger and the first hair grip are configured to secure an amount of hair therebetween when the first hair grip is moved to the hair holding position; and   wherein the second finger and the second hair grip are configured to secure an amount of hair therebetween when the second hair grip is moved to the hair holding position.   
     
     
         2 . The hair grasping device of  claim 1 , further comprising a trigger operably coupled with each of the first hair grip and the second hair grip. 
     
     
         3 . The hair grasping device of  claim 2 , wherein the first hair grip is disposed adjacent to and slides along the first finger when the first hair grip is moved between the hair grasping position and the hair holding position; and
 wherein the second hair grip is disposed adjacent to and slides along the second finger when the second hair grip is moved between the hair grasping position and the hair holding position.   
     
     
         4 . The hair grasping device of  claim 1 , wherein the first hair grip further comprises a hook having a base, a tip, and a bend; and
 wherein the second hair grip further comprises a hook having a base, a tip, and a bend.   
     
     
         5 . The hair grasping device of  claim 4 , wherein the base and the bend of each of the first and second hair grips combine to form a throat configured to capture the amount of hair when the first and second hair grips are in the hair grasping position and hold the amount of hair against the grasping end of each of the first and second fingers when each of the first and second hair grips are in the hair holding position. 
     
     
         6 . The hair grasping device of  claim 1 , further comprising a blade coupled to one of the first finger and the first hair grip, the blade configured to cut excess hair when the first hair grip is moved to the hair holding position. 
     
     
         7 . A hair grasping device comprising:
 a handle;   a first finger extending from the handle and a second finger extending from the handle, the first finger and the second finger each having a width and a grasping end distal from the handle, wherein the first finger is spaced from the second finger by at least the width of the first finger, and wherein the first finger extends from the handle in a slide direction substantially parallel with the second finger;   a first grip having a throat at a distal end of the first grip, the throat of the first grip being defined by a hook and a base;   wherein the first grip is slidably combined with the first finger to be movable in the slide direction with respect to the first finger between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position;   wherein the hook of the first grip is separated from the grasping end of the first finger in the slide direction when in the hair grasping position, and the hook of the first grip engages the grasping end of the first finger to secure hair within the throat between the hook of the first grip and the grasping end of the first finger when in the hair holding position; and   a second grip having a throat at a distal end of the second grip, the throat of the second grip being defined by a hook and a base;   wherein the second grip is slidably combined with the second finger to be movable in the slide direction with respect to the second finger between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position; and   wherein the hook of the second grip is separated from the grasping end of the second finger in the slide direction when in the hair grasping position, and the hook of the second grip engages the grasping end of the second finger to secure hair within the throat between the hook of the second grip and the grasping end of the second finger when in the hair holding position.   
     
     
         8 . The hair grasping device of  claim 7 , further comprising a trigger slidably attached to the handle and operably coupled with each of the first hair grip and the second hair grip. 
     
     
         9 . The hair grasping device of  claim 8 , wherein the first hair grip is adjacent to and slides along the first finger when the first hair grip is moved between the hair grasping position and the hair holding position; and
 wherein the second hair grip is adjacent to and slides along the second finger when the second hair grip is moved between the hair grasping position and the hair holding position.   
     
     
         10 . The hair grasping device of  claim 9 , further comprising a blade coupled to one of the first finger and the first hair grip, the blade configured to cut excess hair when the first hair grip is in the hair holding position. 
     
     
         11 . The hair grasping device of  claim 7 , wherein the first finger and the second finger are spaced apart a distance which allows a finger of a second hair grasping device to be placed between the first finger and second finger. 
     
     
         12 . A hair grasping device comprising:
 a handle;   a first finger extending from the handle;   a first hair grip having a width, the first hair grip slidably coupled to the first finger to be movable with respect to the first finger between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position;   a second finger extending from the handle; and   a second hair grip slidably coupled to the second finger to be movable with respect to the second finger between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position, wherein the second hair grip is spaced apart from the first hair grip a distance of at least the width of the first hair grip;   wherein the first finger and the first hair grip are configured to secure an amount of hair therebetween when the first hair grip is moved to the hair holding position; and   wherein the second finger and the second hair grip are configured to secure an amount of hair therebetween when the second hair grip is moved to the hair holding position.   
     
     
         13 . The hair grasping device of  claim 12 , further comprising a trigger operably coupled with each of the first hair grip and the second hair grip. 
     
     
         14 . The hair grasping device of  claim 13 , wherein the first hair grip is disposed adjacent to and slides along the first finger when the first hair grip is moved between the hair grasping position and the hair holding position; and
 wherein the second hair grip is disposed adjacent to and slides along the second finger when the second hair grip is moved between the hair grasping position and the hair holding position.   
     
     
         15 . The hair grasping device of  claim 12 , wherein the first hair grip further comprises a gripping end having a hook with a base, a tip, and a bend; and
 wherein the second hair grip further comprises a gripping end having hook with a base, a tip, and a bend.   
     
     
         16 . The hair grasping device of  claim 15 , wherein the base and the bend of each of the first and second hair grips combine to form a throat configured to capture the amount of hair when the first and second hair grips are in the hair grasping position and hold the amount of hair against the grasping end of each of the first and second fingers when each of the first and second hair grips are in the hair holding position. 
     
     
         17 . The hair grasping device of  claim 12 , further comprising a blade coupled to one of the first finger and the first hair grip, the blade configured to cut excess hair when the first hair grip is moved to the hair holding position. 
     
     
         18 . A hair grasping device comprising:
 a handle;   a first finger extending from the handle;   a first hair grip slidably coupled to the first finger to be movable with respect to the first finger between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position;   a second finger extending from the handle; and   a second hair grip slidably coupled to the second finger to be movable with respect to the second finger between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position;   wherein the first finger and the first hair grip are configured to secure an amount of hair between the first finger and the first hair grip;   wherein the second finger and the second hair grip are configured to secure an amount of hair between the second finger and the second hair grip; and   wherein the first finger and the second finger are spaced apart a distance which allows a finger of a second hair grasping device to be placed between the first finger and second finger.   
     
     
         19 . The hair grasping device of  claim 18 , wherein the first hair grip is disposed adjacent to and slides along the first finger when the first hair grip is moved between the hair grasping position and the hair holding position; and
 wherein the second hair grip is disposed adjacent to and slides along the second finger when the second hair grip is moved between the hair grasping position and the hair holding position.   
     
     
         20 . The hair grasping device of  claim 19 , wherein the first hair grip further comprises a hook having a base, a tip, and a bend; and
 wherein the second hair grip further comprises a hook having a base, a tip, and a bend.   
     
     
         21 . The hair grasping device of  claim 20 , wherein the base and the bend of each of the first and second grips combine to form a throat configured to capture the amount of hair when the first and second hair grips are in the hair grasping position and hold the amount of hair against the grasping end of each of the first and second fingers when each of the first and second hair grips are in the hair holding position.
