Abstract
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatus, systems, computer program products for providing an electrical schematic associated with wiring data found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation via an IETM viewer. In one embodiment, a method is provided comprising: providing a window comprising the electrical schematic in which a plurality of wires and a plurality of components shown in the electrical schematic are selectable; receiving selection of a wire; responsive to receiving the selection: generating a preview wire window for the wire comprising wiring information describing properties of the wire and/or other information related to the wire provided in the wiring data; and providing the preview wire window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview wire window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.

A method for providing an electrical schematic associated with wiring data found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation for the item via an IETM viewer, the method comprising:
providing a window for display via the IETM viewer executing on a user computing entity being used by a user signed into the IETM, the window comprising the electrical schematic in which a plurality of wires and a plurality of components shown in the electrical schematic are selectable; receiving input of a selection of a wire of the plurality of wires, wherein the selection of the wire is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the wire of the plurality of wires:
generating a preview wire window for the wire, the preview wire window comprising at least one of wiring information describing properties of the wire and other information related to the wire provided in the wiring data; and
providing the preview wire window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview wire window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window;
receiving input of a selection of a component of the plurality of components, wherein the selection of the component is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the component of the plurality of components:
generating a preview component window for the component, the preview component window comprising at least one of component information describing the component and other information related to the component provided in the wiring data; and
providing the preview component window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview component window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of components comprises one or more harnesses, one or more electrical equipment, one or more connectors, and one or more track assemblies.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the component comprises a connector and the component information comprises an illustration of the connector displayed on the preview component window comprising a plurality of pins in which each of the plurality of pins is selectable and the method further comprises:
receiving input of a selection of a pin from the plurality of pins, the selection of the pin being performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the pin from the plurality of pins:
generating a preview pin window for the pin, the preview pin window comprising pin information describing the pin provided in the wiring data; and
providing the preview pin window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview pin window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the window comprises a selection mechanism and the method further comprises:
receiving input of a selection of the selection mechanism, wherein the selection of the selection mechanism is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the selection mechanism:
generating a list of components, the list of components comprising each component shown in the electrical schematic;
providing the list of components for display via a first view pane of the window; and
providing the electrical diagram for display via a second view pane of the window.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein each component in the list of components is selectable and the method further comprises:
receiving input of a selection of a component from the list of components, wherein the selection of the component is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the component from the list of components:
generating a component window for the component, the component window comprising a list of electrical schematics found in the wiring data for the technical documentation for the item in which the component is shown in each of the electrical schematics in the list of electrical schematics; and
providing the component window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the component window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein each of the electrical schematics in the list of electrical schematics is selectable and the method further comprises:
receiving input of a selection of a particular electrical schematic from the list of electrical schematics, wherein the selection of the particular electrical schematic is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular electrical schematic, providing the particular electrical schematic for display via the window.

An apparatus for providing an electrical schematic associated with wiring data found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation for the item via an IETM viewer, the apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including a computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
provide a window for display via the IETM viewer executing on a user computing entity being used by a user signed into the IETM, the window comprising the electrical schematic in which a plurality of wires and a plurality of components shown in the electrical schematic are selectable; receive input of a selection of a wire of the plurality of wires, wherein the selection of the wire is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the wire of the plurality of wires:
generate a preview wire window for the wire, the preview wire window comprising at least one of wiring information describing properties of the wire and other information related to the wire provided in the wiring data; and
provide the preview wire window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview wire window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window;
receive input of a selection of a component of the plurality of components, wherein the selection of the component is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the component of the plurality of components:
generate a preview component window for the component, the preview component window comprising at least one of component information describing the component and other information related to the component provided in the wiring data; and
provide the preview component window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview component window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of components comprises one or more harnesses, one or more electrical equipment, one or more connectors, and one or more track assemblies.

The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the component comprises a connector and the component information comprises an illustration of the connector displayed on the preview component window comprising a plurality of pins in which each of the plurality of pins is selectable and the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
receive input of a selection of a pin from the plurality of pins, the selection of the pin being performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the pin from the plurality of pins:
generate a preview pin window for the pin, the preview pin window comprising pin information describing the pin provided in the wiring data; and
provide the preview pin window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview pin window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
10 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the window comprises a selection mechanism and the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
receive input of a selection of the selection mechanism, wherein the selection of the selection mechanism is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the selection mechanism:
generate a list of components, the list of components comprising each component shown in the electrical schematic;
provide the list of components for display via a first view pane of the window; and
provide the electrical diagram for display via a second view pane of the window.
11 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein each component in the list of components is selectable and the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
receive input of a selection of a component from the list of components, wherein the selection of the component is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the component from the list of components:
generate a component window for the component, the component window comprising a list of electrical schematics found in the wiring data for the technical documentation for the item in which the component is shown in each of the electrical schematics in the list of electrical schematics; and
provide the component window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the component window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
12 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein each of the electrical schematics in the list of electrical schematics is selectable and the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to:
receive input of a selection of a particular electrical schematic from the list of electrical schematics, wherein the selection of the particular electrical schematic is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular electrical schematic, provide the particular electrical schematic for display via the window.

A non-transitory computer storage medium comprising instructions for providing an electrical schematic associated with wiring data found in technical documentation for an item via an interactive electronic technical manual system (IETM) configured to provide electronic and credentialed access to the technical documentation for the item via an IETM viewer, the instructions being configured to cause one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:
provide a window for display via the IETM viewer executing on a user computing entity being used by a user signed into the IETM, the window comprising the electrical schematic in which a plurality of wires and a plurality of components shown in the electrical schematic are selectable; receive input of a selection of a wire of the plurality of wires, wherein the selection of the wire is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the wire of the plurality of wires:
generate a preview wire window for the wire, the preview wire window comprising at least one of wiring information describing properties of the wire and other information related to the wire provided in the wiring data; and
provide the preview wire window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview wire window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window;
receive input of a selection of a component of the plurality of components, wherein the selection of the component is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the component of the plurality of components:
generate a preview component window for the component, the preview component window comprising at least one of component information describing the component and other information related to the component provided in the wiring data; and
provide the preview component window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview component window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
14 . The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of components comprises one or more harnesses, one or more electrical equipment, one or more connectors, and one or more track assemblies.

The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the component comprises a connector and the component information comprises an illustration of the connector displayed on the preview component window comprising a plurality of pins in which each of the plurality of pins is selectable and the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:
receive input of a selection of a pin from the plurality of pins, the selection of the pin being performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the pin from the plurality of pins:
generate a preview pin window for the pin, the preview pin window comprising pin information describing the pin provided in the wiring data; and
provide the preview pin window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the preview pin window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
16 . The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the window comprises a selection mechanism and the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:
receive input of a selection of the selection mechanism, wherein the selection of the selection mechanism is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the selection mechanism:
generate a list of components, the list of components comprising each component shown in the electrical schematic;
provide the list of components for display via a first view pane of the window; and
provide the electrical diagram for display via a second view pane of the window.
17 . The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 16 , wherein each component in the list of components is selectable and the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:
receive input of a selection of a component from the list of components, wherein the selection of the component is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the component from the list of components:
generate a component window for the component, the component window comprising a list of electrical schematics found in the wiring data for the technical documentation for the item in which the component is shown in each of the electrical schematics in the list of electrical schematics; and
provide the component window for display via the IETM viewer, wherein the component window is superimposed over at least a portion of the window.
18 . The non-transitory computer storage medium of claim 17 , wherein each of the electrical schematics in the list of electrical schematics is selectable and the instructions are configured to cause the one or more processors to at least perform operations configured to:
receive input of a selection of a particular electrical schematic from the list of electrical schematics, wherein the selection of the particular electrical schematic is performed by the user via the IETM viewer; and responsive to receiving the input of the selection of the particular electrical schematic, provide the particular electrical schematic for display via the window.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
