Generating dynamic repayment terms
Abstract
In some examples, a payment service system (PSS) receives transaction data for a transaction of a user of the PSS, including an identifier associated with the user and an amount of the transaction. The PSS may use the identifier to identify a user account of the user, and may determine that the amount of the transaction will cause the balance of the account to satisfy a threshold. Based at least on determining that the user account satisfies a condition and that the transaction will cause the balance to satisfy the threshold, the PSS may process the transaction using funds from the balance and from an additional source of funds provided by another user. Based on the user account receiving a deposit of funds, the PSS may withhold a portion of the deposit as repayment for at least a portion of the funds received from the additional source.

2 . A system comprising:
one or more processors associated with a payment service system (PSS), the one or more processors configured by executable instructions to perform operations including:
receiving, by the one or more processors, transaction data associated with a transaction of a first user of the PSS, wherein the transaction data includes an identifier associated with the first user and an amount of the transaction;
identifying, by the one or more processors and using the identifier, a user account of the first user, wherein the user account is associated with a balance;
determining, by the one or more processors, that the amount of the transaction will cause the balance to satisfy a threshold;
based at least in part on determining that the user account satisfies a condition and that the transaction will cause the balance to satisfy the threshold, processing, by the one or more processors, the transaction using the funds associated with the balance and an additional source of funds, wherein the additional source of funds is provided by a second user of the PSS;
receiving, by the one or more processors, an indication of a deposit of funds associated with the user account of the first user; and
withholding, by the one or more processors, a portion of the deposit of funds as repayment for at least a portion of the funds transferred to the balance associated with the user account for completion of the transaction.
3 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein:
the transaction comprises at least one of: (a) a provision of funds via a debit card to another user of the PSS, or (b) payment for a purchase using the debit card; and the identifier corresponds at least to information associated with the debit card.
4 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein receiving the deposit of funds associated with the user account of the first user further comprises receiving at least one of: an incoming payroll payment, a deposit activity, a cash flow associated with equities or securities, or a peer-to-peer transaction associated with the user account of the first user.
5 . The system as recited in claim 2 , further comprising determining a repayment schedule for repaying the additional source of funds based at least on determining payroll information associated with the user account of the first user.
6 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein the additional source of funds is provided based at least on receiving, from a device associated with the second user, an offer to provide funds.
7 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein determining that the user account satisfies the condition comprises at least one of:
determining that the user account is configured to receive incoming payroll deposits for the first user periodically; or determining, based on a transaction history of the first user, that an incoming cash flow for the user account of the first user meets a requirement.
8 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein repayment terms for repayment of at least the portion of the funds transferred to the balance associated with the user account of the first user are determined based on at least one of a transaction history of the first user, or a transaction history of the second user.
9 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a payment service system (PSS), transaction data associated with a transaction of a first user of the PSS, wherein the transaction data includes an identifier associated with the first user and an amount of the transaction; identifying, by the PSS and using the identifier, a user account of the first user, wherein the user account is associated with a balance; determining, by the PSS, that the amount of the transaction will cause the balance to satisfy a threshold; based at least in part on determining that the user account satisfies a condition and that the transaction will cause the balance to satisfy the threshold, processing the transaction using the funds associated with the balance and an additional source of funds, wherein the additional source of funds is provided by a second user of the PSS or by the PSS; receiving an indication of a deposit of funds associated with the user account of the first user; and withholding a portion of the deposit of funds as repayment for at least a portion of the funds transferred to the balance associated with the user account for completion of the transaction.
10 . The method as recited in claim 9 , wherein:
the transaction comprises at least one of: (a) a provision of funds via a debit card to another user of the PSS, or (b) payment for a purchase using the debit card; and the identifier corresponds at least to information associated with the debit card.
11 . The method as recited in claim 9 , wherein receiving the deposit of funds associated with the user account of the first user further comprises receiving at least one of: an incoming payroll payment, a deposit activity, a cash flow associated with equities or securities, or a peer-to-peer transaction associated with the user account of the first user.
12 . The method as recited in claim 9 , further comprising determining a repayment schedule for repaying the additional source of funds based at least on determining payroll information associated with the user account of the first user.
13 . The method as recited in claim 9 , wherein the additional source of funds is provided by the second user and based at least on receiving, from a device associated with the second user, an offer to provide funds.
14 . The method as recited in claim 9 , wherein determining that the user account satisfies the condition comprises at least one of:
determining that the user account is configured to receive incoming payroll deposits for the first user periodically; or determining, based on a transaction history of the first user, that an incoming cash flow for the user account of the first user meets a requirement.
15 . The method as recited in claim 9 , wherein the additional source of funds is provided by the second user and repayment terms for repayment of at least the portion of the funds transferred to the balance associated with the user account of the first user are determined based on at least one of: a transaction history of the first user, or a transaction history of the second user.
16 . One or more non-transitory computer readable media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors associated with a payment service system (PSS), configure the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
receiving, by the one or more processors, transaction data associated with a transaction of a first user of the PSS, wherein the transaction data includes an identifier associated with the first user and an amount of the transaction; identifying, by the one or more processors and using the identifier, a user account of the first user, wherein the user account is associated with a balance; determining, by the one or more processors, that the amount of the transaction will cause the balance to satisfy a threshold; based at least in part on determining that the user account satisfies a condition and that the transaction will cause the balance to satisfy the threshold, processing, by the one or more processors, the transaction using the funds associated with the balance and an additional source of funds, wherein the additional source of funds is provided by a second user of the PSS; receiving, by the one or more processors, an indication of a deposit of funds associated with the user account of the first user; and withholding, by the one or more processors, a portion of the deposit of funds as repayment for at least a portion of the funds transferred to the balance associated with the user account for completion of the transaction.
17 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media as recited in claim 16 , wherein:
the transaction comprises at least one of: (a) a provision of funds via a debit card to another user of the PSS, or (b) payment for a purchase using the debit card; and the identifier corresponds at least to information associated with the debit card.

The one or more non-transitory computer readable media as recited in claim 16 , wherein receiving the deposit of funds associated with the user account of the first user further comprises receiving at least one of: an incoming payroll payment, a deposit activity, a cash flow associated with equities or securities, or a peer-to-peer transaction associated with the user account of the first user.
19 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media as recited in claim 16 , the operations further comprising determining a repayment schedule for repaying the additional source of funds based at least on determining payroll information associated with the user account of the first user.
20 . The one or more non-transitory computer readable media as recited in claim 16 , wherein the additional source of funds is provided based at least on receiving, from a device associated with the second user, an offer to provide funds.
