Drain Cover

Abstract

The present invention relates to a cover for a drain which traps hair or other debris traveling with water or other liquids down the drain. In most embodiments the drain cover comprises an outer and inner perimeter with one or more slits cut from the outer perimeter towards the inner perimeter. The shape and design of the drain cover allows it to cover any drain type, whether the grate is level with the bottom of the receptacle, recessed into the bottom of the receptacle, or whether a stopper sticks up from the bottom of the receptacle. In many embodiments the drain cover also comprises gaps for allowing water to flow through and projections for catching the hair or other debris.

         21 . A drain cover comprising:
 An outer perimeter;   An inner perimeter;   An outermost perimeter which is separated from said outer perimeter and said inner perimeter;   At least one notch between said outermost and inner perimeters; and   At least part of the area inside of said outer perimeter further comprises at least one feature selected from the group consisting of projection, gap, and combinations thereof.   
     
     
         22 . The drain cover according to  claim 21 , wherein at least part of the area between said outer perimeter and said outermost perimeter further comprises at least one feature selected from the group consisting of projection, gap, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         23 . The drain cover according to  claim 21 , further comprising at least one fold line located within said outer perimeter. 
     
     
         24 . The drain cover according to  claim 23 , wherein said at least one fold line is perforated. 
     
     
         25 . The drain cover according to  claim 21 , further comprising at least one slit located between said outer perimeter and said inner perimeter 
     
     
         26 . The drain cover according to  claim 25 , wherein said at least one slit is perforated. 
     
     
         27 . The drain cover according to  claim 21 , further comprising at least one handle. 
     
     
         28 . The drain cover according to  claim 21 , further comprising at least one fastener selected from the group consisting of suction cup, adhesive, tape, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         29 . The drain cover according to  claim 21 , wherein said gap is a perforated area which can be removed by the user. 
     
     
         30 . A drain cover comprising:
 An outer perimeter   An inner perimeter   At least one slit located between said outer perimeter and said inner perimeter;   At least one fold line located within said outer perimeter; and   At least part of the area inside of said outer perimeter of said outer perimeter comprises at least one feature selected from the group consisting of a projection, gap, and combinations thereof.   
     
     
         31 . The drain cover according to  claim 30 , further comprising an outermost perimeter which is separated from said outer perimeter and said inner perimeter. 
     
     
         32 . The drain cover according to  claim 31 , further comprising at least one notch between said outermost and inner perimeters. 
     
     
         33 . The drain cover according to  claim 30 , further comprising a plurality of petals. 
     
     
         34 . The drain cover according to  claim 33 , wherein an area of each petal is between said outermost perimeter on a top of said petal, said inner perimeter on a bottom of said petal, said slit on a first side of said petal, and said slit on a second side of said petal;
 wherein said plurality of petals each further comprise a top surface and a bottom surface;   
     
     
         35 . The drain cover according to  claim 34 , wherein each of said plurality of petals can be placed in the locations selected from the group consisting of on top of said top surface of another petal, below said bottom surface of another petal, or combinations thereof. 
     
     
         36 . The drain cover according to  claim 35 , wherein at least a part of the area within said outer perimeter comprises at least one feature selected from the group consisting of projection, gap, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         37 . A drain cover comprising:
 An outer perimeter;   An inner perimeter which is separated from said outer perimeter;   At least two areas, each area defined by said outer perimeter, said inner perimeter; and between a first slit and second slit wherein each slit extends from said outer perimeter to said inner perimeter;   Said at least two areas are adjacent one another; and   At least a part of one area comprises at least one feature selected from the group consisting of projection, gap, and combinations thereof.   
     
     
         38 . The drain cover according to  claim 37 , wherein the termination of said at least one notch and the start of said at least one slit are located proximate to one another. 
     
     
         39 . The drain cover according to  claim 37 , further comprising a fastener selected from the group consisting of suction cup, adhesive, tape, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         40 . A drain cover according to  claim 37 , further comprising a plurality of slits and a plurality of areas.
