User Equipment (UE), Generation Node-B (GNB) and Methods for Signaling of Control Information for Pre-Coding
Abstract
Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), a generation Node-B (gNB) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The UE may the UE 102 may receive from a gNB, control signaling that indicates: a first pre-coding matrix indicator (PMI) that indicates a first pre-coder for a first sub-band; and a second PMI that indicates a second pre-coder for a second sub-band. The first and second pre-coders may be included in predetermined candidate pre-coders. The UE may encode a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) block for transmission. The UE may scale the PUSCH block in the first sub-band by the first pre-coder. The UE may scale the PUSCH block in the second sub-band by the second pre-coder.

23 . An apparatus, comprising:
a memory; and at least one processor in communication with the memory and configured to:
generate an indication of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) index of a CSI-RS resource of a plurality of CSI-RS resources in an uplink grant as part of a non-codebook based precoding method, wherein the CSI-RS index is used in a non-codebook based uplink precoding operation associated with the uplink grant; and
receive an uplink transmission associated with the uplink grant based on the CSI-RS index.
24 . The apparatus of claim 23 ,
wherein the non-codebook based uplink precoding operation includes using CSI-RS resources associated with the CSI-RS index to calculate uplink precodings.

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
transmit using the plurality of CSI-RS resources, wherein respective CSI-RS resources are associated with respective beams at a base station.
26 . The apparatus of claim 23 ,
wherein the uplink grant indicates an index associated with the apparatus for transmission of the uplink transmission.
27 . The apparatus of claim 23 ,
wherein the uplink grant indicates a carrier index for transmission of the uplink transmission.
28 . The apparatus of claim 23 ,
wherein the uplink grant is sent using downlink control information (DCI).
29 . The apparatus of claim 23 ,
wherein uplink and downlink channels are reciprocal.
30 . A method, comprising:
a base station,
providing an indication of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) index of a CSI-RS resource of a plurality of CSI-RS resources in an uplink grant in accordance with a non-codebook based precoding method, wherein the CSI-RS index is used in a non-codebook based uplink precoding operation associated with the uplink grant; and
receiving an uplink transmission associated with the uplink grant based on the CSI-RS index.
31 . The method of claim 30 ,
wherein the non-codebook based uplink precoding operation includes using CSI-RS resources associated with the CSI-RS index to calculate uplink precodings.
32 . The method of claim 30 , further comprising:
the base station,
transmitting using the plurality of CSI-RS resources, wherein respective CSI-RS resources are associated with respective beams at the base station.
33 . The method of claim 30 ,
wherein the uplink grant indicates an index associated with the apparatus for transmission of the uplink transmission.
34 . The method of claim 30 ,
wherein the uplink grant indicates a carrier index for transmission of the uplink transmission.
35 . The method of claim 30 ,
wherein the uplink grant is sent using downlink control information (DCI).
36 . The method of claim 30 ,
wherein uplink and downlink channels are reciprocal.
37 . A method, comprising:
a user equipment (UE),
receiving, as part of a non-codebook based precoding method, an indication of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) index of the CSI-RS resource of the plurality of CSI-RS resources in an uplink grant, wherein the CSI-RS index is used in a non-codebook based uplink precoding operation associated with the uplink grant; and
transmitting an uplink transmission associated with the uplink grant based on the CSI-RS index.
38 . The method of claim 37 ,
wherein the non-codebook based uplink precoding operation includes using CSI-RS resources associated with the CSI-RS index to calculate uplink precodings.
