Advertising experience enabler
Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a processing system that receives data related to an advertisement; the data includes a notice that the advertisement is to be presented at equipment of an end user. The system also analyzes the data by a rules engine using predetermined rules, including analyzing a context of the data and communicating with an external software component via an application programming interface (API). The system also sends a request by the rules engine to a rendering manager to initiate rendering of the advertisement, and renders the advertisement using an integrated software development kit (SDK) that is external to the rules engine. New ad experiences can thus be created based on a new event or on integration of a new rendering component (such as an SDK), rather than creating a new rules engine, ad decision manager, or operations API. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A device comprising:
a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, comprising: receiving data regarding an advertisement to be rendered for presentation at equipment of an end user; analyzing the data using predetermined rules, wherein the analyzing includes analyzing a context of the data, and wherein the analyzing includes communicating over a network via an application programming interface (API); sending a request to a rendering manager to initiate rendering of the advertisement; adding an ad rendering software development kit (SDK) in communication with the rendering manager; and rendering the advertisement by the rendering manager using the ad rendering SDK.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the data includes a notice that the advertisement is to be rendered at the equipment of the end user.
3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the analyzing is performed by a rules engine, and wherein the ad rendering SDK is external to the rules engine.
4 . The device of claim 3 , wherein the rules engine communicates over the network with a plurality of external software components using a plurality of APIs, and wherein the rules engine sends a query via one of the plurality of APIs regarding whether presentation of the advertisement is permitted.
5 . The device of claim 3 , wherein the rules engine and the rendering manager comprise a client-side system of a communication network.
6 . The device of claim 3 , wherein the rules engine is in communication with a plurality of rendering components, and wherein the rules engine selects one of the plurality of rendering components for rendering the advertisement in accordance with business rules, technical rules, or a combination thereof relating to the advertisement.
7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise modifying the rendering manager, resulting in a modified rendering manager, and wherein the advertisement is rendered by the modified rendering manager.
8 . The device of claim 7 , wherein the advertisement comprises an interactive advertisement having an interactive component enabled by the modified rendering manager.
9 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the analyzing is performed by a rules engine, and wherein the interactive component is enabled without modifying the rules engine.
10 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a processing system including a processor, data regarding an advertisement to be rendered for presentation at equipment of an end user, the advertisement including an interactive component; analyzing, by the processing system, the data using predetermined rules, wherein the analyzing includes analyzing a context of the data, and wherein the analyzing includes communicating over a network via an application programming interface (API); sending, by the processing system, a request to a rendering manager to initiate rendering of the advertisement; adding, by the processing system, an ad rendering software development kit (SDK) in communication with the rendering manager; and rendering, by the processing system, the advertisement by the rendering manager using the ad rendering SDK.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the data includes a notice that the advertisement is to be rendered at the equipment of the end user.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the analyzing is performed by a rules engine, and wherein the ad rendering SDK is external to the rules engine.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the rules engine communicates over the network with a plurality of external software components using a plurality of APIs, and wherein the rules engine sends a query via one of the plurality of APIs regarding whether presentation of the advertisement is permitted.
14 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising modifying, by the processing system, the rendering manager, resulting in a modified rendering manager, and wherein the advertisement is rendered by the modified rendering manager.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the interactive component is enabled by the modified rendering manager.
16 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
receiving data regarding an advertisement to be rendered for presentation at equipment of an end user; analyzing the data using predetermined rules, wherein the analyzing includes analyzing a context of the data, and wherein the analyzing includes communicating over a network via an application programming interface (API); sending a request to a rendering manager to initiate rendering of the advertisement, wherein the advertisement is retrieved over a communication network; adding an ad rendering software development kit (SDK) in communication with the rendering manager; and rendering the advertisement by the rendering manager using the ad rendering SDK.
17 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the data includes a notice that the advertisement is to be rendered at the equipment of the end user.
18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the analyzing is performed by a rules engine, and wherein the ad rendering SDK is external to the rules engine.
19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 16 , further comprising modifying, by the processing system, the rendering manager, resulting in a modified rendering manager, and wherein the advertisement is rendered by the modified rendering manager.
20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the advertisement comprises an interactive advertisement having an interactive component enabled by the modified rendering manager.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
