Exercise apparatus

Abstract

A physical exercise equipment set may include an elongated connecting bar having two ends and each end having a threaded engaging hole; a plurality of weighted portions; and two or more dumbbells. Each dumbbell has a handle having an elongated threaded portion at each of two opposite ends, a pair of weighted units located at two opposite ends of the handle, and a securing unit to secure each weighted unit in a predetermined position on the handle. For each of the two dumbbells, one of the weighted portions is taken out from one side of the handle, and the threaded portion is inserted into and threadedly engaged with each of the two threaded engaging holes of the connecting bar to form a barbell.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A physical exercise equipment set comprising an elongated connecting bar having two ends and each end having a threaded engaging hole; a plurality of weighted portions; and two or more dumbbells,
 wherein each dumbbell has a handle having an elongated threaded portion at each of two opposite ends, a pair of weighted units located at two opposite ends of the handle, and a securing unit to secure each weighted unit in a predetermined position on the handle,   wherein for one of the dumbbells, one of the weighted portions is taken out from one side of the handle, and the threaded portion is inserted into and threadedly engaged with one of the threaded engaging holes of the connecting bar to form a barbell; for another dumbbell, one of the weighted portions is taken out from one side of the handle, and the threaded portion is inserted into and threadedly engaged with the other threaded engaging hole of the connecting bar to form a barbell.   
     
     
         2 . The dumbbell of  claim 1 , wherein the securing unit is configured to move along the threaded portion to secure the weighted portion on the handle. 
     
     
         3 . The dumbbell of  claim 1 , wherein the weighted portion has a through hole and is inserted into the handle from the threaded portion until one side of the weighted portion reaches a stopping edge on the handle, while the other side of the weighted portion is secured by the securing unit on the threaded portion. 
     
     
         4 . The dumbbell of  claim 1 , wherein the weighted portion can be added on each side of the handle according to the user's preferences. 
     
     
         5 . The dumbbell of  claim 1 , wherein when at least one of the threaded portion of handle is detached from the connecting bar of the barbell, and one weighted portion is added and secured to the detached threaded portion, the barbell can be transformed to at least one dumbbell.
