Abstract

In a sheath device for inserting a catheter into a patient's body, comprising a first sheath having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein when used as intended the distal end of the first sheath is provided for arrangement in the patient's body and the proximal end of the first sheath is provided for arrangement outside the patient's body, and wherein the first sheath comprises a tubular section and a sheath housing, which is disposed at the proximal end of the section and comprises a receiving channel for a catheter, according to the invention the tubular section is detachably held in a clamping element of the sheath housing in a non-positive manner so as to be able to easily shorten the tubular section.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 14 . (canceled)

         15 . A sheath device for inserting a catheter in a patient's body, comprising:
a first sheath having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the distal end of the first sheath is configured to be inserted in a patient's body and the proximal end of the first sheath is configured to remain outside the patient's body, and wherein the first sheath comprises:
a sheath housing, wherein the sheath housing comprises a first clamping element, a second clamping element on a proximal side of the first clamping element, and a receiving channel for a catheter; and
a tubular section located within the sheath housing, wherein the tubular section is detachably held in the first clamping element.

16 . The sheath device of claim 15 , wherein the tubular section can be displaced into the sheath housing when the first clamping element is released.

17 . The sheath device of claim 15 , wherein the tubular section is configured to move in a longitudinal direction relative to the sheath housing.

18 . The sheath device of claim 15 , wherein the first clamping element comprises an elastically deformable first clamping ring and the second clamping element comprises an elastically deformable second clamping ring.

19 . The sheath device of claim 18 , wherein the first clamping ring and the second clamping ring are produced from an elastomer or from a slotted ring made of a plastic material or a metal.

20 . The sheath device of claim 18 , wherein the first clamping element comprises a first screw element for axially pressing the first clamping ring and the second clamping element comprises a second screw element for axially pressing the second clamping ring.

21 . The sheath device of claim 18 , wherein the first clamping ring can be radially deformed by an axial pressure action.

22 . The sheath device of claim 18 , wherein the first clamping ring surrounds the tubular section and can be pressed by a first screw element such that the first clamping ring radially clamps the tubular section.

23 . The sheath device of claim 15 , wherein the first clamping element comprises a first hemostatic valve.

24 . The sheath device of claim 23 , wherein the first hemostatic valve is configured to seal around the tubular section.

25 . The sheath device of claim 15 , wherein the second clamping element comprises a second hemostatic valve.

26 . The sheath device of claim 15 , wherein the catheter is detachably held in the second clamping element.

27 . The sheath device of claim 15 , further comprising a second sheath surrounding the catheter.

28 . The sheath device of claim 27 , wherein the tubular section is configured to allow passage of the catheter from the second sheath into the tubular section.

29 . The sheath device of claim 27 , wherein the second sheath is detachably held in the second clamping element.

30 . The sheath device of claim 29 , wherein the second sheath is detachably held in the second clamping element by a second clamping ring of the second clamping element.

31 . The sheath device of claim 18 , wherein the second clamping ring can be radially deformed by an axial pressure action.

32 . The sheath device of claim 18 , wherein the second clamping ring has a conical shape.

33 . The sheath device of claim 32 , wherein the second clamping element further comprises a second stop, wherein the second stop has a conical shape that is shaped in a direction opposite to the conical shape of the second clamping ring.

34 . The sheath device of claim 33 , wherein the second clamping ring is axially fixed inside the sheath housing by the second stop.
