Abstract

Disclosed are various embodiments for initiating execution of an application based at least in part on an identification of the object in an image, video, or other graphical representation of the object. A graphical representation of an object is obtained using an image capture device. The object in the graphical representation is identified along with a list of applications associated with the identified object. A user interface is then rendered that allows the user to execute or install one or more of the applications associated with the identified object.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
Therefore, the following is claimed:

         1 . A system, comprising:
a computing device comprising a processor and a memory; and machine-readable instructions stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, cause the computing device to at least:
 obtain a graphical representation of an object;
 provide the graphical representation to an object recognition application;
receive an application identifier associated with the object from an application management service; and
cause a user interface to be rendered on a display accessible to the computing device, the user interface comprising an option to initiate execution of an application associated with the application identifier.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the computing device to at least:
identify a user selection of the option to initiate execution of the application associated with the application identifier in the user interface; cause an installation of the application associated with the application identifier; and initiate an execution of the application associated with the application identifier.

3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the computing device to at least:
retrieve a user credential associated with the application in response to initiating the execution of the application.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the computing device to at least:
receive an object identifier for the object from the object recognition application; and provide the object identifier to the application management service.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, causes the computing device to at least:
determine that the application identifier matches an application identifier associated with an authentication credential; and retrieve the authentication credential.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the computing device to at least:
generate a secondary representation of the object, the secondary representation comprising a plurality of feature points.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the machine-readable instructions that cause the computing device to obtain the graphical representation of the object further cause the computing device to at least:
provide metadata corresponding to the graphical representation to the object recognition application, the metadata comprising a time at which the graphical representation was generated.

         8 . A method, comprising:
obtaining, by a computing device, a graphical representation of an object; providing, by a computing device, the graphical representation to an object recognition application; receiving, by the computing device, an application identifier associated with the object from an application management service; and causing, by the computing device, a user interface to be rendered on a display accessible to the computing device, the user interface comprising an option to initiate execution of an application associated with the application identifier.

9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
identifying, by the computing device, a user selection of the option to initiate execution of the application; causing, by the computing device, an installation of the application; and initiating, by the computing device, an execution of the application.

10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
retrieving, by the computing device, a user credential associated with the application in response to initiating the execution of the application.

11 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
receiving, by the computing device, an object identifier for the object from the object recognition application; and providing, by the computing device, the object identifier to the application management service.

12 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
determining, by the computing device, that the application identifier matches an application identifier associated with an authentication credential; and retrieving, by the computing device, the authentication credential.

13 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
generating, by the computing device, a secondary representation of the object, the secondary representation comprising a plurality of feature points.

14 . The method of claim 8 , wherein obtaining the graphical representation of the object further comprises:
providing, by the computing device, metadata corresponding to the graphical representation to the object recognition application, the metadata comprising a time at which the graphical representation was generated.

15 . A non-transitory, computer-readable medium comprising machine-readable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to at least:
obtain a graphical representation of an object; provide the graphical representation to an object recognition application; receive an application identifier associated with the object from an application management service; and cause a user interface to be rendered on a display accessible to the computing device, the user interface comprising an option to initiate execution of an application associated with the application identifier.

16 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the computing device to at least:
identify a user selection of the option to initiate execution of the application associated with the application identifier in the user interface; cause an installation of the application associated with the application identifier; and initiate an execution of the application associated with the application identifier.

17 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the computing device to at least:
receive an object identifier for the object from the object recognition application; and provide the object identifier to the application management service.

18 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, causes the computing device to at least:
determine that the application identifier matches an application identifier associated with an authentication credential; and retrieve the authentication credential.

19 . The non-transitory, computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the machine-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, further cause the computing device to at least:
