Claims

Abstract

A mechanically ventilated headgear assembly for cooling a head of a user includes a hat, which can be positioned on the head of the user. The hat has a plurality of apertures positioned therein proximate to a top thereof to vent the hat. A battery is engaged to the hat. A fan, which is engaged to and positioned within the hat proximate to the top, is operationally engaged to the battery so that the battery is positioned to selectively power the fan. The fan motivates air through the apertures to cool the head of the user.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A mechanically ventilated headgear assembly comprising:
 a hat configured for positioning on a head of a user, the hat having a plurality of apertures positioned therein proximate to a top thereof, wherein the apertures are configured for venting the hat;   a battery engaged to the hat; and   a fan engaged to and positioned within the hat proximate to the top, the fan being operationally engaged to the battery, such that the battery is positioned for selectively powering the fan, wherein the fan is configured for motivating air through the apertures for cooling the head of the user.   
     
     
         2 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the apertures of the plurality of apertures are circularly arranged in the top. 
     
     
         3 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the hat comprises a safety helmet, wherein the safety helmet is configured for protecting the head of the user from an impact. 
     
     
         4 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 1 , further including:
 the battery being rechargeable; and   a connector engaged to the hat and being operationally engaged to the battery, wherein the connector is configured for engaging a plug of a cord engaged to a source of electrical current for operationally engaging the battery to the source of electrical current for charging the battery.   
     
     
         5 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 4 , wherein the battery comprises lithium. 
     
     
         6 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 4 , wherein the connector comprises a Universal Serial Bus port. 
     
     
         7 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 4 , further including a switch engaged to the hat and being operationally engaged to the fan and the battery, wherein the switch is configured for switching for selectively operationally engaging the fan to the battery for powering the fan. 
     
     
         8 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the switch comprises a button, the button being depressible, wherein the button is configured for depressing a first time for powering the fan and for depressing a second time for depowering the fan. 
     
     
         9 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 1 , further including a grate engaged to and positioned within the hat proximate to the top defining a chamber, the fan being positioned within the chamber, wherein the grate is configured for separating the head of the user from the fan. 
     
     
         10 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 7 , further including a housing engaged to the hat, the housing defining an interior space, the battery being positioned within the interior space, the switch and the connector being engaged to the housing and accessible from an exterior thereof. 
     
     
         11 . The mechanically ventilated headgear assembly of  claim 10 , wherein the housing is positioned on a back of the hat proximate to a brim thereof. 
     
     
         12 . A mechanically ventilated headgear assembly comprising:
 a hat configured for positioning on a head of a user, the hat having a plurality of apertures positioned therein proximate to a top thereof, wherein the apertures are configured for venting the hat, the apertures of the plurality of apertures being circularly arranged in the top, the hat comprising a safety helmet, wherein the safety helmet is configured for protecting the head of the user from an impact;   a battery engaged to the hat, the battery being rechargeable, the battery comprising lithium;   a connector engaged to the hat and being operationally engaged to the battery, wherein the connector is configured for engaging a plug of a cord engaged to a source of electrical current for operationally engaging the battery to the source of electrical current for charging the battery, the connector comprising a Universal Serial Bus port;   a fan engaged to and positioned within the hat proximate to the top, the fan being operationally engaged to the battery, such that the battery is positioned for selectively powering the fan, wherein the fan is configured for motivating air through the apertures for cooling the head of the user;   a switch engaged to the hat and being operationally engaged to the fan and the battery, wherein the switch is configured for switching for selectively operationally engaging the fan to the battery for powering the fan, the switch comprising a button, the button being depressible, wherein the button is configured for depressing a first time for powering the fan and for depressing a second time for depowering the fan;   a grate engaged to and positioned within the hat proximate to the top defining a chamber, the fan being positioned within the chamber, wherein the grate is configured for separating the head of the user from the fan; and   a housing engaged to the hat, the housing defining an interior space, the battery being positioned within the interior space, the switch and the connector being engaged to the housing and accessible from an exterior thereof, the housing being positioned on a back of the hat proximate to a brim thereof.
