Abstract
Systems and methods for converting consumer coins, cash, and/or other forms of value for use with mobile commerce platforms implemented on, for example, smart phones, PDAs, and other mobile devices. In one embodiment, a method for implementing a mobile commerce account on a mobile device includes receiving coins and/or other funds from a user at a consumer-operated kiosk. The method can further include counting the coins and/or other funds to determine a value, and then communicating at least a portion of the value from the kiosk to the hand-held mobile device for deposit in the mobile commerce account.

20 . A computer-implemented method for executing transactions using a mobile commerce account, the computer-implemented method comprising:
receiving, at the mobile commerce account, a value of funds corresponding to an amount of funds deposited in a consumer-operated kiosk, wherein the mobile commerce account is accessible via a mobile device; and in response to receiving the value of funds at the mobile commerce account, causing the mobile device to display a plurality of transaction options that can be initiated via the mobile device, wherein the plurality of transaction options include at least two of transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a bank account, transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a loyalty program, transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a virtual card for facilitating commercial transactions, or transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a mobile wallet.
21 . The computer-implemented method of claim 20 , further comprising:
receiving, from a user, a selection of one of the plurality of transaction options, the selection including a specified amount of the value of funds in the mobile commerce account to be transferred in accordance with the selected transaction option; and in response to receiving the selection from the user, causing the mobile commerce account to initiate the transfer of the specified amount of the funds in accordance with the at least one transaction option.
22 . The computer-implemented method of claim 20 , further comprising:
in response to receiving the funds at the mobile commerce account and before causing the mobile device to display the plurality of transaction options, causing the mobile device to display a message indicating that an amount of funds available in the mobile commerce account has been increased by the value of funds deposited in the mobile commerce account.
23 . The computer-implemented method of claim 20 wherein the plurality of transaction options includes transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a virtual card.
24 . The computer-implemented method of claim 23 , further comprising:
receiving, from a user, a selection of the transaction option for transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a virtual card; in response to receiving the selection from the user, displaying, via the mobile device, a plurality of virtual cards; receiving, from the user, a selection of one of the plurality of virtual cards, the selection including a specified amount of the value of funds in the mobile commerce account to be transferred to the selected virtual card; and causing the mobile commerce account to transfer the specified amount of the funds to the selected virtual card.
25 . The computer-implemented method of claim 20 wherein the plurality of transaction options includes transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a bank account.
26 . The computer-implemented method of claim 20 wherein the plurality of transaction options includes transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a loyalty program.
27 . The computer-implemented method of claim 20 wherein the plurality of transaction options includes transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a mobile wallet.
28 . A mobile device for executing transactions using a mobile commerce account, the mobile device comprising:
a user interface; one or more processors; and a non-transitory memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the mobile device to perform the operations of:
receiving, at the mobile commerce account, a value of funds corresponding to an amount of funds deposited in a consumer-operated kiosk; and
in response to receiving the value of funds at the mobile commerce account, causing the user interface of the mobile device to display a plurality of transaction options that can be initiated via the mobile device, wherein the plurality of transaction options include at least two of transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a bank account, transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a loyalty program, transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a virtual card for facilitating commercial transactions, or transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a mobile wallet.
29 . The mobile device of claim 28 wherein the operations further comprise:
receiving, via the user interface, a selection of one of the plurality of transaction options, the selection including a specified amount of the value of funds in the mobile commerce account to be transferred in accordance with the selected transaction option; and
in response to receiving the selection from the user, causing the mobile commerce account to initiate the transfer of the specified amount of the funds in accordance with the at least one transaction option.
30 . The mobile device of claim 28 wherein the operations further comprise:
in response to receiving the funds at the mobile commerce account and before causing the user interface to display the plurality of transaction options, causing the user interface to display a message indicating that an amount of funds available in the mobile commerce account has been increased by the value of funds deposited in the mobile commerce account.
31 . The mobile device of claim 28 wherein the plurality of transaction options includes transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a virtual card.
32 . The mobile device of claim 31 wherein the operations further comprise:
receiving, from a user, a selection of the transaction option for transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a virtual card;
in response to receiving the selection from the user, displaying, via the mobile device, a plurality of virtual cards;
receiving, from the user, a selection of one of the plurality of virtual cards, the selection including a specified amount of the value of funds in the mobile commerce account to be transferred to the selected virtual card; and
causing the mobile commerce account to transfer the specified amount of the funds to the selected virtual card.
33 . The mobile device of claim 28 wherein the plurality of transaction options includes transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a bank account.
34 . The mobile device of claim 28 wherein the plurality of transaction options includes transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a loyalty program.
35 . The mobile device of claim 28 wherein the plurality of transaction options includes transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a mobile wallet.
36 . A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions for executing transactions using a mobile commerce account, wherein the instructions, when executed, cause the operations of:
receiving, at the mobile commerce account, a value of funds corresponding to an amount of funds deposited in a consumer-operated kiosk, wherein the mobile commerce account is accessible via a mobile device; and in response to receiving the value of funds at the mobile commerce account, causing the mobile device to display a plurality of transaction options that can be initiated via the mobile device, wherein the plurality of transaction options include at least two of transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a bank account, transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a loyalty program, transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a virtual card for facilitating commercial transactions, or transferring all or a portion of the value of funds to a mobile wallet.
37 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 36 wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the operations of:
receiving, from a user, a selection of one of the plurality of transaction options, the selection including a specified amount of the value of funds in the mobile commerce account to be transferred in accordance with the selected transaction option; and
in response to receiving the selection from the user, causing the mobile commerce account to initiate the transfer of the specified amount of the funds in accordance with the at least one transaction option.
38 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 36 wherein the operations further comprise:
