Abstract
A device and system for firearm tracking capable of tracking firearm location and status while limiting un-authorized use of a firearm. The device featuring a housing that is compatible with a firearm magazine-well wherein once secured to a firearm the device may not be disassociated therefrom rendering the firearm non-functional.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A firearm securing device compatible with a firearm magazine well, wherein once secured with the magazine well the device cannot be disassociated from the firearm rendering the firearm non-functional, and wherein the device may be disassociated from said magazine well only with user specific identification, the device including:
a) a housing having the form of a magazine; b) an electronics and circuitry module functionally associated with an actuator and a fixation element, wherein said fixation element is configured to securely associate with a portion of said magazine well to affix said device within said magazine well.
2 . The device of claim 1 further comprising a movement module configured to be actuated with said actuator.
3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein said movement module provides for facilitating translating the movement of said actuator to controlled movement of said fixation element.
4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said electronics module includes a location sub-module for identifying the real time location of said device.
5 . The device of claim 1 having at least two fixation elements.
6 . The device of claim 4 , wherein said electronics module, said actuator, and said movement module are disposed along a lower portion of said housing.
7 . The device of claim 4 , wherein said electronics module includes an Identification (ID) sub-module comprising an identification sensor for identifying the rightful owner and/or user of said device and its associated firearm.

The device of claim 7 , wherein said ID sub-module is provided in at least one form selected from the group consisting of a fingerprint pad and associated software, voice recognition hardware and software, a retinal scanner, a biological identification device, a DNA identification, a touchpad, and a keypad.
9 . A system for securing a firearm magazine well with said device, the system including the device of claim 1 and at least one of a identification key or a processing and communication device, that are in wireless communication with said electronic circuitry module.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein said at least one identification key or at least one said processing and communication device comprises electronic memory and communication capabilities for communicating user identification data.

The system of claim 9 , wherein said at least one identification key utilizes proximity wireless communication for communication with said device, wherein said wireless communication is selected from the group consisting of RF communication, IR communication, BLUETOOTH, NFC, and any combination thereof.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the viability of a communication range between said at least one identification key and said device is limited to a predetermined radius.
13 . The system of claim 1 Z wherein said predetermined radius is up to 1 meter.
14 . The system of claim 10 , wherein said identification comprises biometric identification.
15 . The system of claim 10 , wherein said at least one processing and communication device is capable of mapping and identifying the real time location of said device.
16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein said system provides for monitoring and managing a plurality of firearms forming an arsenal thereof, wherein each firearm of said plurality of firearms is in communication with said at least one processing and communication device.
17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein said at least one processing and communication device is in communication with a public security monitoring agency in order to obtain and/or verify a valid firearm license.
