Abstract

A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a communication device. In one embodiment, the method includes the device being configured with a plurality of resource pools by a base station for a cell. The method further includes the device receiving a grant from the base station, wherein the grant indicates a resource associated with a resource pool of the plurality of resource pools through a resource pool index in the grant. The method also includes the device using the resource to perform a transmission on a device-to-device interface.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method for a first communication device, comprising:
being configured, by a base station, with a plurality of resource pools, wherein the plurality of resource pools are used for sidelink communication in a first bandwidth part; receiving a grant in a second bandwidth part for downlink from the base station, wherein the grant indicates a resource associated with a resource pool of the plurality of resource pools through a resource pool index in the grant; and using the resource to perform a sidelink transmission.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the resource pool is configured with a resource pool Identity (ID), and wherein the resource pool index is associated with the resource pool ID.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a field in the grant indicates the resource pool index.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each resource pool in the plurality of resource pools is associated with one resource pool ID.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein receiving the grant refers to receiving a downlink control signal for scheduling the resource, or wherein receiving the grant refers to receiving the downlink control signal for scheduling the resource in the second bandwidth part for downlink, or wherein receiving the grant refers to being configured or activated by the base station with a configured grant.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sidelink transmission is a unicast sidelink transmission, a groupcast sidelink transmission, or a broadcast sidelink transmission.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sidelink transmission is for a second communication device.

8 . A method for a first communication device, comprising:
being configured, by a base station, with a plurality of resource pools via a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling, wherein the first RRC signaling indicates each resource pool in the plurality of resource pools is associated with one resource pool Identity (ID); being configured with a configuration for sidelink Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) via the first RRC signaling or a second RRC signaling, wherein the configuration for sidelink SPS includes a resource pool ID indicated in the first RRC signaling; and using a resource in a resource pool of the plurality of resource pools to perform a sidelink transmission based on the configuration for sidelink SPS, wherein the resource pool is associated with the resource pool ID.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the sidelink transmission is a unicast sidelink transmission, a groupcast sidelink transmission, or a broadcast sidelink transmission.

10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the sidelink transmission is for a second communication device.

11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the sidelink SPS is used without activation signaling.

         12 . A first communication device, comprising:
a memory; and a processor operatively coupled to the memory, wherein the processor is configured to execute program code to: be configured, by a base station, with a plurality of resource pools for a cell, wherein the plurality of resource pools are used for sidelink communication in a first bandwidth part; receive a grant in a second bandwidth part for downlink from the base station, wherein the grant indicates a resource associated with a resource pool of the plurality of resource pools through a resource pool index in the grant; and use the resource to perform a sidelink transmission.

13 . The device of claim 12 , wherein the resource pool is configured with a resource pool Identity (ID), and wherein the resource pool index is associated with the resource pool ID.

14 . The device of claim 12 , wherein a field in the grant indicates the resource pool index.

15 . The device of claim 12 , wherein each resource pool in the plurality of resource pools is associated with one resource pool ID.

16 . The device of claim 12 , wherein receiving the grant refers to receiving a downlink control signal for scheduling the resource, or wherein receiving the grant refers to receiving the downlink control signal for scheduling the resource in the second bandwidth part for downlink, or wherein receiving the grant refers to being configured or activated with a configured grant by the base station.

17 . The device of claim 12 , wherein the sidelink transmission is a unicast sidelink transmission, a groupcast sidelink transmission, or a broadcast sidelink transmission.

18 . The device of claim 12 , wherein the sidelink transmission is for a second communication device.
