Mobile communication device based monetary transfer system
Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for performing transactions using secure images. A device may collect transaction details and initiates the creation of a secure image. Upon creation of the secure image, the device may provide the secure image to second device participating in the transaction by displaying the secure image in a manner that allows the second device to capture the secure image or by providing the secure image in an electronic message. The second device may use the secure image to identify the transaction by providing the secure image to a secure server. Upon receiving the secure image, the secure server may provide transaction details to the second device. The second device may then send a confirmation of the transaction to the secure server, which may then complete the transaction. Use of the secure image allows the transaction to be performed without exposing sensitive transaction details.

29 . The method of claim 25 , further comprising prior to sending confirmation to the transaction core engine, verifying that a user of the device is authorized to confirm the transaction.
30 . A computer readable medium comprising computer-executable code that, when executed by at least one processor, perform a method transmitting sensitive data over an open network, the method comprising:
receiving, at a server, one or more transaction details for a transaction from a requesting device, wherein the one or more transaction details comprise at least a payment amount and wherein the one or more transaction details do not include sensitive personal information for a responding party to the transaction; storing the one or more transaction details at the server; creating, by the server, a secure transaction image, wherein the secure transaction image is a unique image of an optical representation of encoded and encrypted transaction details decipherable by the server, that represents the one or more transaction details, wherein the secure transaction image does not comprise sensitive personal information, and wherein creating the secure transaction image comprises:
retrieving a user provided image associated with a requesting device; and
digitally modifying the user provided image based upon the one or more transaction details to generate an optically different image from the user provided image;
storing the secure transaction image at the server; sending the secure transaction image to the requesting device; receiving a candidate image from a responding device, wherein the responding device is associated with the responding party; determining whether the candidate image and the secure transaction image are the same; when the candidate image received from the responding device is determined to be the same as the stored secure transaction image sent to the requesting device, sending transaction confirmation details to the responding device; and receiving a request to complete the transaction from the responding device.
31 . The computer readable medium of claim 30 , wherein the method further comprises in response to receiving the request to complete the transaction from the responding device, providing a response to the requesting device.
32 . The computer readable medium of claim 31 , wherein providing the response comprises sending a confirmation of the transaction to the requesting device.
33 . The computer readable medium of claim 30 , wherein the method further comprises authenticating the responding device.
34 . The computer readable medium of claim 33 , wherein authenticating the responding device comprises checking the location of the responding device against a known location for the requesting device.
