Abstract

A mobile device intermediary for vehicle adaptation is disclosed. A mobile device intermediary can access driver profile information and vehicle profile information from a remotely located device, determine vehicle adaptation information based on the driver profile information and vehicle profile information, and facilitate access to the vehicle adaptation information to facilitate adapting an aspect of a first vehicle. The mobile device intermediary can further receive other vehicle profile information related to a second vehicle associated with a driver profile and include the other vehicle profile information in determining the vehicle adaptation information. The vehicle adaptation information can be related to adapting a performance aspect of the first vehicle. The vehicle adaptation information can also be related to adapting an amenity aspect of the first vehicle. Vehicle adaption information can provide improved safety and driver comfort as a driver uses different vehicles, can be portable, and can be device independent.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A mobile device that is distinct from a vehicle, comprising:
 a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
 receiving an occupant profile, wherein the occupant profile comprises occupant information, and wherein the occupant profile is distinct from any other profiles comprising vehicle information;
 receiving a vehicle profile, wherein the vehicle profile comprises vehicle information, and wherein the vehicle profile is distinct from any other profiles comprising occupant information;
 determining an adjustment of a vehicle system of a vehicle, wherein the adjustment is determined from the vehicle information of the vehicle profile and the occupant information of the occupant profile, and wherein the vehicle profile comprises vehicle information corresponding to the vehicle; and
 transmitting a signal from the mobile device, wherein the signal is directed to be received by the vehicle, and wherein the signal indicates the adjustment of the vehicle system to enable adjustment of the vehicle system based on the occupant profile and the vehicle profile.

         2 . The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the vehicle is comprised in a rental vehicle fleet.

         3 . The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the occupant profile is a driver profile.

         4 . The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the occupant profile is a passenger profile.

         5 . The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the occupant profile comprises receiving a first occupant profile and a second occupant profile, wherein the first occupant profile is a driver profile, wherein the second occupant profile is a passenger profile, and wherein the determining of the adjustment is based on the first and second occupant profile and the vehicle profile.

         6 . The mobile device of claim 5 , wherein the determining of the adjustment based on the first and second occupant profile comprises determining the adjustment based on the first profile in response to determining that the adjustment corresponds to a vehicle system pertinent to operation of the vehicle.

         7 . The mobile device of claim 5 , wherein the determining of the adjustment based on the first and second occupant profile comprises favoring the determining of the adjustment based on the first profile in response to determining that basing the adjustment on the first profile would conflict with basing the adjustment on the second profile.

         8 . The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device is selected from a group of mobile devices comprising a mobile phone, a smartphone, and a wearable telecommunications device.

         9 . The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device is selected from a group of mobile devices comprising a tablet computer, a laptop computer, and a wearable computing device.

         10 . The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the determining of the adjustment of the vehicle system comprises determining an adjustment of a vehicle system selected from a group of vehicle systems comprising a vehicle steering system, a vehicle braking system, a vehicle acceleration system, a vehicle adjustable suspension system, and a vehicular-operator interface system.

         11 . The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the determining of the adjustment of the vehicle system comprises determining the adjustment of a vehicle system selected from a group of vehicle systems comprising a vehicle infotainment system, a vehicle environmental control system, a vehicle occupant positioning system, a vehicle occupant restraint system, a vehicle occupant sightline system, and a vehicle communication system.

         12 . A method, comprising:
 receiving, by a system comprising a non-vehicular mobile processor, an occupant profile, wherein the occupant profile comprises occupant information, and wherein the occupant profile does not comprise vehicle system information; receiving, by the system, a vehicle profile, wherein the vehicle profile comprises vehicle information, and wherein the vehicle profile does not comprise occupant characteristic information; determining, by the system, an adjustment of a vehicle system of a vehicle, wherein the adjustment is determined from the vehicle information of the vehicle profile and the occupant characteristic information of the occupant profile, and wherein the vehicle profile comprises vehicle information corresponding to the vehicle; and initiating, by the system, communication of a signal for reception by the vehicle, and wherein the signal indicates the adjustment of the vehicle system to enable adjustment of the vehicle system based on the occupant profile and the vehicle profile.

         13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the determining of the adjustment corresponds to the system causing an adjusting of the vehicle for an occupant not having historically operated the vehicle.

         14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the vehicle is a rental vehicle.

         15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the rental vehicle is located remotely from a personal vehicle of the occupant.

         16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the rental vehicle is a same model as another vehicle historically operated by the occupant.

         17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the rental vehicle is a different model than another vehicle historically operated by the occupant.

         18 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a non-vehicular mobile device, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
 accessing an occupant profile for an occupant of a vehicle, wherein the occupant profile comprises occupant information, and wherein the occupant profile does not comprise vehicle system information; accessing a vehicle profile for the vehicle, wherein the vehicle profile comprises vehicle information, and wherein the vehicle profile does not comprise occupant characteristic information; determining an adjustment of a vehicle system of the vehicle, wherein the adjustment is determined from the vehicle information of the vehicle profile and the occupant characteristic information of the occupant profile, and wherein the vehicle profile comprises vehicle information corresponding to the vehicle; and communicating a signal to the vehicle from the non-vehicular mobile device, wherein the signal indicates the adjustment of the vehicle system and causes adjustment of the vehicle system based on the occupant profile and the vehicle profile.
