Disposable curtain system, attachment therefor and method

Abstract

Disclosed is a disposable curtain system, attachment therefor and method. The disposable curtain system is for use in health care facilities to maintain a clean environment. The quick connect and/or release system for a curtain is adapted for use with a track having rollers therein including an attachment for attaching to the rollers; an extension having a first end extending from the attachment and a second having a flexible member holder thereon; an elongate flexible member having a first end, a second end and a mid-portion, wherein the mid-portion is adapted to be releasably attached to the flexible member holder; and a curtain holder, adapted to be attached to a curtain, wherein said curtain holder has a first attachment for attaching the first end of the flexible member and a second attachment for attaching the second end of the flexible member.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A quick connect and/or release system for a curtain adapted for use with a track having rollers therein comprising:
 an attachment for attaching to the rollers;   an extension having a first end, extending from the attachment and a second having a flexible member holder thereon;   an elongate flexible member having a first end, a second end and a mid-portion, wherein the mid-portion is adapted to be releasably attached to the flexible member holder; and   a curtain holder, adapted to be attached to a curtain, wherein said curtain holder has a first attachment for attaching the first end of the flexible member and a second attachment for attaching the second end of the flexible member.   
     
     
         2 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 1 , wherein the first attachment for the flexible member and the second attachment for the flexible member are different. 
     
     
         3 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 1 , wherein the flexible member is one of a wire, a cable, and a string. 
     
     
         4 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 1 , wherein the curtain holder has a sharp edge therein for cutting the flexible member for removal. 
     
     
         5 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 2 , wherein at least one of the first attachment for the flexible member and the second attachment for the flexible member is a button or dial. 
     
     
         6 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 5 , wherein the button has a spring therein. 
     
     
         7 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first attachment for the flexible member and the second attachment for the flexible member is a spring loaded catch. 
     
     
         8 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 2 , wherein at least one of the first attachment for the flexible member and the second attachment for the flexible member is a permanent attachment. 
     
     
         9 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 1 , wherein the curtain holder has two parts, a female part and a male part. 
     
     
         10 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 1 , wherein the male part has clips and the female part has a receiving hole for the clips. 
     
     
         11 . The quick connect and/or release system of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the flexible member holder and curtain holder has a magnet therein to assist in grouping the flexible member holders or the curtain holders together during installation or disassembly. 
     
     
         12 . The quick connect and/or release system and curtain comprising:
 a plurality of attachments for attaching to the rollers of a track;   a plurality of extensions each having a first end extending from an attachment and each second having a flexible member holder thereon;   a plurality of elongate flexible members each having a first end, a second end and a mid-portion, wherein each mid-portion is adapted to be releasably attached to each flexible member holder;   a curtain; and   a plurality of curtain holders, attached to the curtain, wherein each said curtain holder has a first attachment for attaching the first end of the flexible member and a second attachment for attaching the second end of the flexible member.   
     
     
         13 . The quick connect and/or release system and curtain of  claim 12  further comprising:
 a track system adapted to be attached to a ceiling of a healthcare facility, wherein said track system includes a track and a plurality of rollers for gliding through said track, wherein each said roller has a hook thereon, wherein said plurality of attachments are attached to said hooks. 
 
     
     
         14 . A method for installation and/or release of a disposable curtain onto a track system comprising:
 providing an extension for attaching to the track system, wherein the extension has a first end for attaching to the track system and a second end having a flexible member holder thereon;   providing a quick connect and/or release system having a flexible member preinstalled onto a housing for a curtain holder;   pulling the flexible member onto the flexible member holder.   
     
     
         15 . The method for installation and/or release of a disposable curtain onto a track system of  claim 14 , comprising:
 providing a plurality of curtain holders each having a flexible member;   pushing the plurality of curtain holders together and releasing at least one side of the flexible members.
