Systems and methods for monitoring delivery compliance times of online orders
Abstract
Systems and methods including one or more processing modules and one or more non-transitory storage modules storing computing instructions configured to run on the one or more processing modules and perform acts of receiving an order from a customer for a delivery of grocery items to a fulfillment location, determining a delivery compliance time for at least one item of the grocery items, receiving a pickup notification indicating that a pickup has picked up the grocery items at a first time, determining, at a second time after the first time, if a duration of time between the first time and the second time is greater than the delivery compliance time, and, if the duration of time between the first time and the second time is greater than the delivery compliance time, coordinating displaying an expiration message on a pickup interface of a pickup electronic device of the pickup.

21 . A system comprising:
one or more processors; and one or more non-transitory storage devices storing computing instructions configured to run on the one or more processors and perform:
receiving an electronic communication:
(1) from a user electronic device of a user; and
(2) for a delivery of one or more time sensitive items to a fulfillment location, the fulfillment location initially comprising a first location requested by the user;
determining a delivery compliance time for at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items;
facilitating an activation of a vehicle for pickup of the one or more time sensitive items;
transmitting a pickup notification indicating that the at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items has been picked up by the vehicle; and
when the delivery compliance time for the at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items has elapsed before delivery of the at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items to the fulfillment location, transmitting an expiration message to the vehicle.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more time sensitive items comprise groceries.
23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the expiration message changes the fulfillment location from the first location to a return location.
24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the delivery compliance time for the at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items is based on one or more of (1) a calendar day of a year or (2) an outside temperature within a predetermined distance to the first location.
25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the computing instructions are further configured to run on the one or more processors and perform:
after receiving the electronic communication, adding the electronic communication to a compliance list; receiving an electronic signature from the user electronic device of the user indicating the one or more time sensitive items have been delivered to the user within the delivery compliance time of the one or more time sensitive items; and removing the electronic communication from the compliance list after receiving the electronic signature from the user electronic device of the user.
26 . The system of claim 21 , wherein:
the one or more time sensitive items comprise a first time sensitive item having a first delivery compliance time and a second time sensitive item having a second delivery compliance time; the first delivery compliance time is less than the second delivery compliance time; and the delivery compliance time is equal to the first delivery compliance time.
27 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the delivery compliance time includes a buffer time for loading the one or more time sensitive items into the vehicle.
28 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the computing instructions are further configured to run on the one or more processors and perform:
after the vehicle has picked up the one or more time sensitive items, tracking a location of the vehicle.
29 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the computing instructions are further configured to run on the one or more processors and perform:
prior to tracking the location of the vehicle, requesting permission from the vehicle to track the vehicle.
30 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the computing instructions are further configured to run on the one or more processors and perform:
after the vehicle has picked up the one or more time sensitive items, repeatedly determining a remaining estimated travel time between a pickup location and the first location requested by the user.
31 . A method being implemented via execution of computing instructions configured to run at one or more processors and configured to be stored at one or more non-transitory computer-readable media, the method comprising:
receiving an electronic communication:
(1) from a user electronic device of a user; and
(2) for a delivery of one or more time sensitive items to a fulfillment location, the fulfillment location initially comprising a first location requested by the user;
determining a delivery compliance time for at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items; facilitating an activation of a vehicle for pickup of the one or more time sensitive items; transmitting a pickup notification indicating that the at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items has been picked up by the vehicle; and when the delivery compliance time for the at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items has elapsed before delivery of the at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items to the fulfillment location, transmitting an expiration message to the vehicle.
32 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the one or more time sensitive items comprise groceries.
33 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the expiration message changes the fulfillment location from the first location to a return location.
34 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the delivery compliance time for the at least one item of the one or more time sensitive items is based on one or more of (1) a calendar day of a year or (2) an outside temperature within a predetermined distance to the first location.
35 . The method of claim 31 further comprising:
after receiving the electronic communication, adding the electronic communication to a compliance list;
receiving an electronic signature from the user electronic device of the user indicating the one or more time sensitive items have been delivered to the user within the delivery compliance time of the one or more time sensitive items; and
removing the electronic communication from the compliance list after receiving the electronic signature from the user electronic device of the user.
36 . The method of claim 31 , wherein:
the one or more time sensitive items comprise a first time sensitive item having a first delivery compliance time and a second time sensitive item having a second delivery compliance time; the first delivery compliance time is less than the second delivery compliance time; and the delivery compliance time is equal to the first delivery compliance time.
37 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the delivery compliance time includes a buffer time for loading the one or more time sensitive items into the vehicle.
38 . The method of claim 31 further comprising:
after the vehicle has picked up the one or more time sensitive items, tracking a location of the vehicle.
39 . The method of claim 38 further comprising:
prior to tracking the location of the vehicle, requesting permission from the vehicle to track the vehicle.
40 . The method of claim 31 further comprising:
after the vehicle has picked up the one or more time sensitive items, repeatedly determining a remaining estimated travel time between a pickup location and the first location requested by the user.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
