Medium conveying apparatus

Abstract

A medium conveying apparatus includes a medium tray on which a medium is placed, a skew corrector that rotates the medium in such a manner that a part of an end of the medium is aligned with a predetermined line, a rotating member that contacts with the medium, and a conveyor that conveys the medium in a conveying direction, wherein the rotating member is supported rotatably on the medium tray so that, when the medium moves in a direction different from the conveying direction, the rotating member rotates following the medium.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A medium conveying apparatus comprising:
 a medium tray on which a medium is placed;   a skew corrector that rotates the medium in such a manner that a part of an end of the medium is aligned with a predetermined line;   a rotating member that is contacts with the medium; and   a conveyor that conveys the medium in a conveying direction, wherein   the rotating member is supported rotatably on the medium tray so that, when the medium moves in a direction different from the conveying direction, the rotating member rotates following the medium.   
     
     
         2 . The medium conveying apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising a separator that separates the medium that is in contact with the medium tray, out of a plurality of media placed on the medium tray. 
     
     
         3 . The medium conveying apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the rotating member is supported rotatably on the medium tray so as to further rotate in the conveying direction. 
     
     
         4 . The medium conveying apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising an other rotating member that contacts with the medium, wherein
 the other rotating member is supported rotatably on the medium tray so that, when the medium moves in a direction different from the conveying direction, the other rotating member is rotated following the medium.
