Abstract
A composition including: trifluoroethylene; pentafluoroethane; and at least one compound C chosen from the group constituted by difluoromethane, 1,1,1-trifluoropropene, trifluoroethane, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, monofluoroethane, 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluorobut-2-ene, 3,3,4,4,4-pentafluorobut-1-ene, 2,4,4,4-tetrafluorobut-1-ene, 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane, 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane, 1,1-difluoroethane, 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane, butane, 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropane, 1-chlorotrifluoropropene, 2-methylbutane, pentane, propane, and mixtures thereof. Also, the uses thereof in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps.

trifluoroethylene; pentafluoroethane; and at least one compound C chosen from the group constituted by difluoromethane, 1,1,1-trifluoropropene, trifluoroethane, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, monofluoroethane, 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluorobut-2-ene, 3,3,4,4,4-pentafluorobut-1-ene, 2,4,4,4-tetrafluorobut-1-ene, 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane, 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane, 1,1-difluoroethane, 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane, butane, 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropane, 1-chlorotrifluoropropene, 2-methylbutane, pentane, propane, and mixtures thereof.
2 . The composition as claimed in claim 1 , in which the weight content of trifluoroethylene is greater than or equal to 5%.
3 . The composition as claimed in claim 1 , in which the weight content of pentafluoroethane is greater than or equal to 1%.
4 . The composition as claimed in claim 1 , in which the weight content of compound(s) C is greater than or equal to 5%.
5 . The composition as claimed in claim 1 , wherein it is chosen from one of the following compositions:
from 5% to 95% by weight of trifluoroethylene; from 5% to 95% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and from 5% to 95% by weight of at least one compound C,
or
from 10% to 80% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 10% to 80% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and
from 5% to 95% by weight of at least one compound C,
or
from 10% to 55% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 10% to 55% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and
from 10% to 80% by weight of at least one compound C,
or
from 10% to 55% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 10% to 55% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and
from 5% to 55% by weight of at least one compound C,
or
from 5% to 35% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 1% to 10% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and
from 60% to 90% by weight of at least one compound C.
6 . The composition as claimed in claim 1 , wherein compound C is 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane.
7 . The composition as claimed in claim 6 , wherein it is chosen from one of the following compositions:
from 10% to 55% by weight of trifluoroethylene; from 10% to 55% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and from 5% to 60% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane,
or
from 10% to 30% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 20% to 50% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and
from 30% to 60% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane,
or
from 20% to 55% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 20% to 45% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and
from 30% to 60% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane,
or
from 30% to 55% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 20% to 50% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and
from 10% to 50% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane,
or
from 40% to 55% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 30% to 55% by weight of pentafluoroethane; and
from 5% to 30% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane.
8 . The composition as claimed in claim 1 , comprising:
trifluoroethylene; pentafluoroethane; 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane; and 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene.
9 . The composition as claimed in claim 8 , wherein it is chosen from one of the following compositions:
from 5% to 60% by weight of trifluoroethylene; from 5% to 60% by weight of pentafluoroethane; from 1% to 50% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane; and from 1% to 60% by weight of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene,
or
from 5% to 60% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 5% to 60% by weight of pentafluoroethane;
from 5% to 50% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane; and
from 5% to 50% by weight of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene,
or
from 5% to 55% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 10% to 55% by weight of pentafluoroethane;
from 5% to 40% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane; and
from 5% to 40% by weight of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene,
or
from 5% to 25% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 10% to 55% by weight of pentafluoroethane;
from 10% to 40% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane; and
from 10% to 40% by weight of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene,
or
from 30% to 55% by weight of trifluoroethylene;
from 20% to 55% by weight of pentafluoroethane;
from 5% to 20% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane; and

10 . The composition as claimed in claim 1 , wherein it has a GWP of less than 2000
11 . A heat-transfer fluid comprising the composition as claimed in claim 1 .
12 . A method of replacement, the method comprising replacing R404A, R452A, R449A, R449C, R448A, R22, R134a, R152a, R422, R502, R407A, R407F, R407C, R1234yf or R1234ze with the composition as claimed in claim 1 .
13 . A heat-transfer composition comprising the composition as claimed in claim 1 and at least one additive chosen from nanoparticles, stabilizers, surfactants, tracing agents, fluorescent agents, odorous agents, lubricants, and solubilizing agents.
14 . A heat-transfer system containing a vapor compression circuit comprising the composition as claimed in claim 1 .
15 . A heat-transfer facility comprising a vapor compression circuit containing a composition comprising:
trifluoroethylene; pentafluoroethane; and at least one compound C chosen from the group constituted by difluoromethane, 1,1,1-trifluoropropene, trifluoroethane, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, monofluoroethane, 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluorobut-2-ene, 3,3,4,4,4-pentafluorobut-1-ene, 2,4,4,4-tetrafluorobut-1-ene, 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane, 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane, 1,1-difluoroethane, 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane, butane, 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropane, 1-chlorotrifluoropropene, 2-methylbutane, pentane, propane, and mixtures thereof.
16 . A process for heating or cooling a fluid or a body by means of a vapor compression circuit containing a heat-transfer fluid, said process successively comprising the evaporation of the heat-transfer fluid, the compression of the heat-transfer fluid, the condensation of the heat-transfer fluid and the expansion of the heat-transfer fluid, in which the heat-transfer fluid is a composition as claimed in claim 1 .
17 . The process as claimed in claim 16 , chosen from:
a process for cooling a fluid or a body, in which the temperature of the cooled fluid or body is from −40° C. to −10° C.; a process for cooling a fluid or a body, in which the temperature of the cooled fluid or body is from −15° C. to 15° C.; and a process for heating a fluid or a body, in which the temperature of the heated fluid or body is from 30° C. to 80° C.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
