Signal color morphology
Abstract
The present system allows for the physician to change the relative height of the signal to allow for examination of details of the signals, while maintaining an ability to interpret signal voltage levels absolutely based on color or other secondary mechanism beyond signal height. The disclosed system and method provide for faster and more accurate analysis based upon the color of the signal. The signal height may change, such as to view, display, or examine details of the signal, while the colors of the display do not. The color scale of the signal provides an absolute scaling of the signal regardless of the displayed height.

1 . A method of display of a plurality of measured signals, the method comprising:
receiving inputs indicative of the plurality of measured signals;
processing the received inputs to determine a plurality of values, each value of the plurality of values corresponding to one of the plurality of measured signals;
displaying one or more of the plurality of values on a display utilizing a first scale that is absolute to the displayed one or more of the plurality of values;
providing a control of a second scale for a first of the one or more of the plurality of values; and
displaying the first of the one or more of the plurality of values in accordance with the controlled second scale while maintaining the display utilizing the first scale.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the first scale is provided in color.
3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the control of the second scale is independent of the first scale.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the control of the second scale allows for visual examination on the display of the first of the one or more of the plurality of values.
5 . The method of claim 1 wherein the first scale allows for direct comparison across ones of the one or more of the plurality of values.
6 . The method of claim 1 wherein the received inputs are from an electrocardiograph (ECG).
7 . A display of a plurality of measured signals comprising:
an input for receiving a plurality of values for display, wherein the plurality of valuers are determined from processing a plurality of measured signals from a measurement system, each value of the plurality of values corresponding to one of the plurality of measured signals;
displaying one or more of the plurality of values on a display utilizing a first scale that is absolute to the displayed one or more of the plurality of values;
providing a control of a second scale for a first of the one or more of the plurality of values; and
displaying the first of the one or more of the plurality of values in accordance with the controlled second scale while maintaining the display utilizing the first scale.
8 . The display of claim 7 wherein the first scale is provided in color.
9 . The display of claim 7 wherein the control of the second scale is independent of the first scale.
10 . The display of claim 7 wherein the control of the second scale allows for visual examination on the display of the first of the one or more of the plurality of values.
11 . The display of claim 7 wherein the first scale allows for direct comparison across ones of the one or more of the plurality of values.
12 . The display of claim 7 wherein the measurement system is an electrocardiograph (ECG).
13 . A system for measuring and displaying a signal of interest, the system comprising:
a plurality of sensors for sensing and outputting a plurality of measured signals;
an input/out unit for receiving the plurality of measured signals from the plurality of sensors;
a processor for processing the received plurality of measured signals to determine a plurality of values, each value of the plurality of values corresponding to one of the plurality of measured signals;
a display for displaying one or more of the plurality of values on a display utilizing a first scale that is absolute to the displayed one or more of the plurality of values;
the display further providing a control of a second scale for a first of the one or more of the plurality of values; and
the display further displaying the first of the one or more of the plurality of values in accordance with the controlled second scale while maintaining the display utilizing the first scale.
14 . The system of claim 13 wherein the first scale is provided in color.
15 . The system of claim 13 wherein the control of the second scale is independent of the first scale.
16 . The system of claim 13 wherein the control of the second scale allows for visual examination on the display of the first of the one or more of the plurality of values.
17 . The system of claim 13 wherein the first scale allows for direct comparison across ones of the one or more of the plurality of values.
