Image processing apparatus, control method for image processing apparatus, and storage medium

Abstract

An image processing apparatus includes a setting unit and a communication control unit to execute HTTP communication to an external apparatus. The setting unit sets whether to use a proxy server. The communication control unit controls, in a case where Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) communication to the external apparatus on a personal area network is performed, executing the HTTP communication to the external apparatus by other than the proxy server, even if use of the proxy server is set.

         17 . A communication apparatus having a direct wireless communication function for establishing wireless connection with an external apparatus and performing wireless communication between the external apparatus with which the wireless connection is established and an image processing apparatus not via an external access point, the communication apparatus comprising:
 at least one processor; and   at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the communication apparatus to perform operations including:   setting a proxy server to be used for communication, and   transmitting data,   wherein, in a case where (i) data compliant with Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is transmitted to outside and (ii) a destination to which the data is transmitted is an external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function, transmitting includes transmitting, not via the set proxy server, the data to the external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function.   
     
     
         18 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the operations performed by the communication apparatus further include transmitting the data via the set proxy server in a case where (i) the data is transmitted to the outside and (ii) a destination to which the data is transmitted is an external apparatus that communicates with the communication apparatus without using the direct wireless communication function. 
     
     
         19 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , further comprising a wired local area network interface,
 wherein the operations performed by the communication apparatus further include transmitting the data via the set proxy server in a case where (i) the data is transmitted to the outside and (ii) a destination to which the data is transmitted is a destination to which data is transmitted through a communication path via a network to which the wired local area network interface belongs.   
     
     
         20 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the operations performed by the communication apparatus further include transmitting the data via the set proxy server in a case where (i) the data is transmitted to the outside and (ii) a destination to which the data is transmitted is a destination to which data is transmitted via a wireless network provided by the external access point. 
     
     
         21 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the communication apparatus is a digital signage apparatus. 
     
     
         22 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the communication apparatus is a scanner. 
     
     
         23 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the communication apparatus is a printing apparatus. 
     
     
         24 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the communication apparatus is a multifunctional apparatus having at least a print function of receiving data and printing the received data and a transmission function of transmitting data via a network to the external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function. 
     
     
         25 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 24 , further comprising a scanner,
 wherein the transmission function transmits data generated based on an image obtained by reading an original using the scanner to a Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) server,   wherein, in a case where the WebDAV server is the external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function, data including a file is transmitted to the WebDAV server not via the set proxy server, and   wherein, in a case where the WebDAV server is an external apparatus that communicates with the communication apparatus without using the direct wireless communication function, the data including the file is transmitted via the set proxy server.   
     
     
         26 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the operations performed by the communication apparatus further include:
 managing identification information for identifying establishment of wireless connection that uses the direct wireless communication function, and   determining, based on the managed identification information, whether the destination to which the data is transmitted is the external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function.   
     
     
         27 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the direct wireless communication function provides direct wireless communication conforming to Wi-Fi Direct® standard or Wi-Fi Aware® standard. 
     
     
         28 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the direct wireless communication function is a function for causing the communication apparatus to operate as an access point and for communicating with the external apparatus without going through the external access point. 
     
     
         29 . The communication apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein setting the proxy server to be used for communication includes setting an address of the proxy server based on a user operation. 
     
     
         30 . A method for a communication apparatus having a direct wireless communication function for establishing wireless connection with an external apparatus and performing wireless communication between the external apparatus with which the wireless connection is established and an image processing apparatus not via an external access point, the method comprising:
 setting a proxy server to be used for communication; and   transmitting data,   wherein, in a case where (i) data compliant with Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is transmitted to outside and (ii) a destination to which the data is transmitted is an external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function, transmitting includes transmitting, not via the set proxy server, the data to the external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program to cause a computer to perform a method for a communication apparatus having a direct wireless communication function for establishing wireless connection with an external apparatus and performing wireless communication between the external apparatus with which the wireless connection is established and an image processing apparatus not via an external access point, the method comprising:
 setting a proxy server to be used for communication; and   transmitting data,   wherein, in a case where (i) data compliant with Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is transmitted to outside and (ii) a destination to which the data is transmitted is an external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function, transmitting includes transmitting, not via the set proxy server, the data to the external apparatus that wirelessly communicates with the communication apparatus using the direct wireless communication function.
