Product Securement and Management System
Abstract
A merchandising system that improves the merchandising of product by limiting the number and the frequency with which product can be removed from, for example, a merchandising shelf. The merchandising system may include a base configured to support product and a housing configured to engage the base. The housing may comprise a top wall, a first side wall, a second side wall, and a front retaining wall. The merchandise system may be configured to hold a number of products, such as cans (for example, baby formula cans) in the merchandise system that would be accessible to the customer one at a time out of the front of the merchandise system. The front of each merchandise system may include its own individual security window attached to the merchandise system that allows the customer to remove one can at a time.

2 . A merchandising system, comprising:
a first base configured to support product; a first housing configured to engage with the first base, comprising a top wall, a first side wall, and a second side wall, wherein the first side wall and the second side wall each include a geometric aperture towards a front of the first housing, wherein the geometric aperture makes it difficult for a consumer to get their fingers around enough of a product moving forward to remove it from the first housing until the product has advanced forward; and a first window rotatable in an upward or vertical direction from a closed position to an open position about a hinge point adjacent to the top wall of the first housing.
3 . The merchandising system of claim 2 , wherein the geometric aperture has an upper edge spaced downward away from the top wall of the first housing.
4 . The merchandising system of claim 3 , wherein a bottom edge of the first window extends below the upper edge of the geometric aperture.
5 . The merchandising system of claim 2 , further comprising a first trigger axle located along the top wall adjacent to and behind the hinge point of the first window, wherein when the first window is rotated, the first trigger axle is rotated.
6 . The merchandising system of claim 5 , wherein the first trigger axle includes a first cantilever that is attached to the first trigger axle, wherein when the first window is rotated, the first cantilever is rotated.
7 . The merchandising system of claim 6 , further including an audio box configured to sound an alarm, wherein when the first window is rotated, the first cantilever rotates against a first switch trigger located on the audio box to sound the audio box.
8 . The merchandising system of claim 5 , further comprising:
a second base configured to support product, a second housing configured to engage the second base, a second window rotatable from a closed position to an open position, and a second trigger axle that mates with the first trigger axle, wherein when wherein when the first trigger axle is rotated, the second trigger axle is rotated.
9 . The merchandising system of claim 2 , wherein the first window is made of a clear or transparent material that allows for the product to be viewed through the first window.
10 . The merchandising system of claim 2 , further including a mechanical lock-out module that allows the first window to have a set number of window openings before triggering a mechanical lock-out of opening of the first window.
11 . The merchandising system of claim 10 , wherein the mechanical lock-out module includes a fluid filled damper element attached to a first trigger axle located along the top wall adjacent to and behind the hinge point of the first window, wherein when the first window is rotated, the first trigger axle is rotated.
12 . The merchandising system of claim 5 , wherein the first trigger axle includes a male connection point on one end and a female connection point on an opposite end to the male connection point.
13 . A merchandising system, comprising:
a base configured to support product; a housing configured to engage with the base, comprising a top wall, a first side wall, and a second side wall; a window having a front surface, a first side surface and a second side surface, wherein the window is rotatable about a hinge point adjacent to the top wall of the housing in an upward or vertical direction; and a mechanical lock-out module that allows the window to have a set number of window openings before triggering a mechanical lock-out of opening of the window, wherein the mechanical lock-out module includes a fluid filled damper element.
14 . The merchandising system of claim 13 , wherein the fluid filled damper element is attached to a trigger axle located along the top wall adjacent to and behind the hinge point of the window.
15 . The merchandising system of claim 13 , wherein the window is made of a clear or transparent material that allows for the product to be viewed through the window.
16 . The merchandising system of claim 13 , wherein the base further comprises a track.
17 . The merchandising system of claim 16 , wherein a pusher is adapted to engage the track.
18 . A merchandising system, comprising:
a base configured to support product; a housing configured to engage with the base, comprising a top wall; a window, wherein the window is rotatable about a hinge point adjacent to the top wall of the housing in an upward or vertical direction; a trigger axle located along the top wall adjacent to and behind the hinge point of the window; an audio box configured to sound an alarm and located on the housing; and wherein when the window is rotated, the trigger axle is rotated causing the audio box to sound.
19 . The merchandising system of claim 18 , wherein the trigger axle includes a cantilever, wherein when the trigger axle is rotated, the cantilever is rotated.
20 . The merchandising system of claim 19 , the trigger axle rotates against a switch trigger located on the audio box to sound the audio box.
