Baby Garment with Removable and Replaceable Portion

Abstract

A garment with a removable and resealable portion across the front.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A garment, comprising:
 a shirt part, having a top and a bottom, having at least sleeves at a top portion, where the top portion is configured to cover at least shoulders of a wearer and to cover a portion, but not all of, a stomach of the wearer, and where the garment includes a cut out portion defined by a first perimeter extending from a first shoulder down towards the stomach of the wearer, across the stomach of the wearer and extending back up to a second shoulder of the wearer, the cut out portion defining edges of an open portion within which there is no material, and the first perimeter of the cut out portion surrounding the open portion, and including a first resealable strip extending along the first perimeter; and   a removable part, separable from the garment, and attachable to the garment, the removable part sized and cut to a similar size to the cut out portion, but slightly larger than the cut out portion by at least a margin of a size of the first resealable strip,   where a second perimeter of the removable part includes a second resealable strip thereon which mates with the first resealable strip and holds thereto, until separated;   where a first path of the first resealable strip on the garment is the same size as a second path of the second resealable strip on the removable portion;   and where the first and second resealable strips are attached to one another to hold the resealable portion into place covering the entire cut out portion extending across the chest of the wearer and under the neck of the wearer, and where the resealable portion is removable from the garment to leave open the open portion.   
     
     
         2 . The garment as in  claim 1  further comprising a second removable part, having a third resealable strip of the same size and material as the second resealable strip, where the second removable part can be resealed into place in place of the removable part, by sealing the third resealable strip in place of the second resealable strip. 
     
     
         3 . The garment as in  claim 1 , wherein the resealable strips are hook and eye material. 
     
     
         4 . The garment as in  claim 1 , wherein the resealable strips are a zipper. 
     
     
         5 . The garment as in  claim 1 , wherein the first resealable strip extends from a shoulder of the garment down towards the stomach to the other shoulder of the garment, but does not extend behind the neck of the wearer, and the second resealable strip is of a similar shape and size of the first resealable strip and does not extend behind the neck of the wearer. 
     
     
         6 . The garment as in  claim 1 , where the garment is a single piece suit, having integral arms and legs, and having the openings at the ends of the arms for the hands to emerge and opening on the legs for the feet to emerge. 
     
     
         7 . The garment as in  claim 1 , where the garment is a shirt. 
     
     
         8 . The garment as in  claim 1 , where the garment is made of cotton, polyester or other baby-safe material.
