Abstract
A wound characterization system that includes color calibration.

1 . A method for making a measurement comprising:
(a) capturing a digital image, the captured digital image including both,
(i) a wound associated with a patient,
(ii) a color calibration pattern;
(b) modifying the color characteristics of the captured wound based upon the color calibration pattern; (c) categorizing said modified captured image into one of a plurality of different wound categories based upon wound severity.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein said modified includes adjusting for exposure.
3 . The method of claim 1 wherein said modified includes adjusting for light.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein said modified includes adjusting for image capture device.
5 . The method of claim 1 further comprising determine boundaries of said wound.
6 . The method of claim 1 further comprising determine boundaries of said modified wound.
