Claims
Abstract
A beam management method, performed by a terminal in a communication system, may include receiving a control message including at least one parameter used for beam management from a first base station; performing a monitoring operation on a first beam configured between the first base station and the terminal based on the at least one parameter; detecting a beam problem in the first beam based on the monitoring operation; and in response to determination that the beam problem is detected in the first beam, performing a recovery operation on the first beam.

1 . An operation method of a terminal in a communication system, comprising:
receiving, from a base station, first configuration information of a plurality of beams through a radio resource control (RRC) message; receiving, from a base station, second configuration information of one or more candidate beams among the plurality of beams; and performing a measurement operation using the one or more candidate beams.
2 . The operation method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, from the base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) including information to indicate activation or deactivation of each of the plurality of beams.
3 . The operation method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI) including information to indicate one beam among the plurality of beams.
4 . The operation method of claim 1 , wherein the first configuration information of the plurality of beams is associated with an index of a reference signal.
5 . The operation method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more candidate beams are not used for transmitting and receiving data.
6 . An operation method of a base station in a communication system, comprising:
transmitting, to a terminal, first configuration information of a plurality of beams through a radio resource control (RRC) message; transmitting, to the terminal, second configuration information of one or more candidate beams among the plurality of beams; and receiving, from the terminal, information on a measurement operation which is performed by the terminal using the one or more candidate beams.
7 . The operation method of claim 6 , further comprising:
transmitting, to the terminal, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) including information to indicate activation or deactivation of each of the plurality of beams.
8 . The operation method of claim 6 , further comprising:
transmitting, to the terminal, downlink control information (DCI) including information to indicate one beam among the plurality of beams.
9 . The operation method of claim 6 , wherein the first configuration information of the plurality of beams is associated with an index of a reference signal.
