Abstract

The present disclosure describes systems and processes, including a computer process, comprising: determining, with one or more computer processors, attributes of a roof of a real-world three-dimensional building by: creating, with the one or more computer processors, a first electronic line drawing of a first plane of a roof of a building in a first drawing layer overlaid on an image depicting the roof of the building; creating, with the one or more computer processors, a second electronic line drawing of a second plane of the roof of the building in a second drawing layer on the image depicting the roof of the building, the first electronic line drawing and the second electronic line drawing having one or more overlapping lines; and assigning, with the one or more computer processors, one or more non-dimensional attributes to the overlapping lines, the non-dimensional attributes identifying one or more types of roof structures.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A computer system, comprising:
 one or more computer processors;   one or more non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the one or more computer processors cause the one or more computer processors to:
 determine attributes of a roof of a real-world three-dimensional building by:
 creating a first electronic line drawing of a first plane of a roof of a building in a first drawing layer overlaid on an image depicting the roof of the building; 
 creating a second electronic line drawing of a second plane of the roof of the building in a second drawing layer on the image depicting the roof of the building, the first electronic line drawing and the second electronic line drawing having one or more overlapping lines; and 
 assigning one or more non-dimensional attributes to the overlapping lines, the non-dimensional attributes identifying one or more types of roof structures. 
 
   
     
     
         2 . The computer system of  claim 1 , the one or more non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the one or more computer processors cause the one or more computer processors to:
 determine dimensional attributes of the overlapping lines.   
     
     
         3 . The computer system of  claim 1 , wherein assigning one or more non-dimensional attributes to the overlapping lines is assigning two or more non-dimensional attributes to the overlapping lines. 
     
     
         4 . The computer system of  claim 1 , wherein the one or more types of roof structures comprise one or more of: roof ridge, roof hip, roof valley, roof flashing edge, perimeter line, roof free edge with a gutter, and a roof free edge without a gutter. 
     
     
         5 . The computer system of  claim 1 , the one or more non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the one or more computer processors cause the one or more computer processors to:
 determine a vector direction corresponding to roof pitch for one or more of the first plane and the second plane of the roof by determining:
 one or more perimeter of the roof from the first line drawing and the second line drawing; and 
 a ridge of the roof from the first line drawing and the second line drawing. 
   
     
     
         6 . The computer system of  claim 5 , the one or more non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the one or more computer processors cause the one or more computer processors to:
 display the vector direction on one or more of the first electronic line drawing and the second line drawing.   
     
     
         7 . The computer system of  claim 1 , the one or more non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the one or more computer processors cause the one or more computer processors to:
 provide visual access to one or more outline drawing corresponding to the roof of the building based on the first electronic line drawing of the first plane of the roof of the building and the second electronic line drawing of the second plane of the roof of the building in the second drawing layer.   
     
     
         8 . The computer system of  claim 7 , the one or more non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the one or more computer processors cause the one or more computer processors to:
 provide one or more pitch dimension on the outline drawing.   
     
     
         9 . The computer system of  claim 1 , the one or more non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions that when executed by the one or more computer processors cause the one or more computer processors to:
 generate one or more adjustment planes of the roof of the building, the one or more adjustment planes comprising one or more portions of the roof which are not fully visible from the image; and   adjust dimensions of the roof based on the adjustment planes.   
     
     
         10 . A computer process, comprising:
 determining, with one or more computer processors, attributes of a roof of a real-world three-dimensional building by:
 creating, with the one or more computer processors, a first electronic line drawing of a first plane of a roof of a building in a first drawing layer overlaid on an image depicting the roof of the building; 
 creating, with the one or more computer processors, a second electronic line drawing of a second plane of the roof of the building in a second drawing layer on the image depicting the roof of the building, the first electronic line drawing and the second electronic line drawing having one or more overlapping lines; and 
 assigning, with the one or more computer processors, one or more non-dimensional attributes to the overlapping lines, the non-dimensional attributes identifying one or more types of roof structures. 
   
     
     
         11 . The computer process of  claim 10 , further comprising:
 determining, with the one or more computer processors, dimensional attributes of the overlapping lines.   
     
     
         12 . The computer process of  claim 10 , wherein assigning, with the one or more computer processors, one or more non-dimensional attributes to the overlapping lines is assigning, with the one or more computer processors, two or more non-dimensional attributes to the overlapping lines. 
     
     
         13 . The computer process of  claim 10 , wherein the one or more types of roof structures comprise one or more of: roof ridge, roof hip, roof valley, roof flashing edge, perimeter line, roof free edge with a gutter, and a roof free edge without a gutter. 
     
     
         14 . The computer process of  claim 10 , further comprising:
 determining, with the one or more computer processors, a vector direction corresponding to roof pitch for one or more of the first plane and the second plane of the roof by determining:
 one or more perimeter of the roof from the first line drawing and the second line drawing; and 
 a ridge of the roof from the first line drawing and the second line drawing. 
   
     
     
         15 . The computer process of  claim 14 , further comprising:
 displaying, with the one or more computer processors, the vector direction on one or more of the first electronic line drawing and the second line drawing.   
     
     
         16 . The computer process of  claim 10 , further comprising providing visual access to one or more outline drawing corresponding to the roof of the building based on the first electronic line drawing of the first plane of the roof of the building and the second electronic line drawing of the second plane of the roof of the building in the second drawing layer. 
     
     
         17 . The computer process of  claim 16 , further comprising providing one or more pitch dimension on the outline drawing. 
     
     
         18 . The computer process of  claim 10 , further comprising:
 generating one or more adjustment planes of the roof of the building, the one or more adjustment planes comprising one or more portions of the roof which are not fully visible from the image; and   adjusting dimensions of the roof based on the adjustment planes.
