 providing for, via a media device, display of a listing of video games available for download to the media device; receiving, at the media device, input from a user via a controller connected to the media device, the input indicating selection of a video game from the listing for download to the media device; providing, from the media device to a server connected to the media device via a network, an indication of an identity of the user; and responsive to the server authenticating a subscription to a game service based on the identity of the user, receiving, at the media device, the selected video game from a server via a network and installing, via the media device, the selected video game to a storage device associated with the media device.

         22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
 receiving, at the media device, input from a controller indicating a request to play the selected video game; and inhibiting execution of the selected video game at the media device until the server has authenticated the subscription to the game service in response to the request to play the selected video game.

         23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the request to play the video game includes a selection of an entry in a listing of recently played games displayed at a display device associated with the media device, and wherein the entry corresponds to the video game.

         24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein installing the video game comprises storing the video game in a storage device of the media device.

         25 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
 providing for display of confirmation of the subscription to the game service.

         26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the subscription to the game service provides unlimited game play for a predetermined amount of time.

         27 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the media device comprises a video game console.

         28 . A media device comprising:
 a network interface coupleable to a network; a display interface coupleable to a display device; a storage device; at least one processor coupled to the network interface, the display interface, and the storage device; and a memory coupled to the at least one processor, the memory comprising instructions executable by the at least one processor to perform operations including:
 providing for display, via the display device, of a listing of video games available for download to the media device;
 receiving input from a user via a controller connected to the media device, the input indicating selection of a video game from the listing for download to the media device;
 providing, to a server connected to the media device via the network, an indication of an identity of the user; and
 responsive to the server authenticating a subscription to a game service based on the identity of the user, receiving the selected video game from a server via the network and installing the selected video game to the storage device.

         29 . The media device of claim 28 , wherein the controller is wirelessly connected to the media device.

         30 . The media device of claim 28 , wherein the storage device includes the memory.

         31 . The media device of claim 28 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 receiving input from the controller indicating a request to play the selected video game; and inhibiting execution of the selected video game at the media device until the server has authenticated the subscription to the game service in response to the request to play the selected video game.

         32 . The media device of claim 31 , wherein the request to play the video game includes a selection of an entry in a listing of recently played games displayed at a display device associated with the media device, and wherein the entry corresponds to the video game.

         33 . The media device of claim 28 , wherein the operation of installing the video game comprises an operation of storing the video game in a storage device of the media device.

         34 . The media device of claim 28 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 providing for display of confirmation of the subscription to the game service.

         35 . The media device of claim 28 , wherein the subscription to the game service provides unlimited game play for a predetermined amount of time.

         36 . The media device of claim 28 , wherein the media device comprises a video game console.

         37 . A non-transitory machine readable medium storing a set of instructions that, when executed, manipulate at least one processor of a media device to perform operations comprising:
 providing for display of a listing of video games available for download to the media device; receiving input from a user via a controller connected to the media device, the input indicating selection of a video game from the listing for download to the media device; providing, to a server connected to the media device via a network, an indication of an identity of the user; and responsive to the server authenticating a subscription to a game service based on the identity of the user, receiving, at the media device, the selected video game from a server via a network and installing, via the media device, the selected video game to a storage device associated with the media device.

         38 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 37 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 receiving input from a controller indicating a request to play the selected video game; and inhibiting execution of the selected video game at the media device until the server has authenticated the subscription to the game service in response to the request to play the selected video game.

         39 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 38 , wherein the request to play the video game includes a selection of an entry in a listing of recently played games displayed at a display device associated with the media device, and wherein the entry corresponds to the video game.
