Systems and methods for fraud detection in e-commerce transactions
Abstract
A system for fraud detection includes one or more processors configured to receive, over a network, an order comprising an item identifier and a customer identifier from a customer device. Consult at least one database to determine if the item associated with the item identifier is included in a virtual inventory. Determine the item is out of stock based on whether the item is included in the virtual inventory. Consult at least one database to determine whether compensation was provided to a customer account associated with the customer identifier, based on determining whether the item is out of stock. Transmit an order cancelation notification to the customer device based on the determination.

21 . A computer-implemented system for fraud detection, the system comprising:
a memory storing instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to:
receive a first order comprising an item identifier and a customer identifier from a customer device;
parse the received first order to identify a customer device identifier associated with the customer device;
determine if an item associated with the item identifier is available;
based on determining the item is not available, determine whether compensation has been provided to a customer account associated with at least one of the customer identifier or the customer device identifier for the item in a second order;
based on determining compensation has been provided for the item in a second order, transmit a notification denying compensation to the customer device.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the customer identifier comprises at least one of a customer name, customer address, customer phone number, or customer email address.
23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the second order was placed before the first order within a predetermined time frame.
24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:
based on determining the item is available, transmit a request to a mobile device associated with an inventory warehouse to package the item.
25 . The system of claim 24 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:
receive shipping notifications from the inventory warehouse; receive delivery updates from a delivery service; and transmit the shipping notifications and the delivery updates to the customer device.
26 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the received order comprises the customer device identifier.
27 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the customer device identifier comprises at least one of an Internet Protocol (IP) address or a memory access control (MAC) address.
28 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:
based on determining the compensation has not been provided for the item in the second order, transmit a notification awarding compensation to the customer device.
29 . A computer-implemented method for fraud detection, the method comprising:
receiving a first order comprising an item identifier and a customer identifier from a customer device; parsing the received first order to identify a customer device identifier associated with the customer device; determining if an item associated with the item identifier is available; based on determining the item is not available, determining whether compensation has been provided to a customer account associated with at least one of the customer identifier or the customer device identifier for the item in a second order; based on determining compensation has been provided for the item in a second order, transmitting a notification denying compensation to the customer device.
30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the customer identifier comprises at least one of a customer name, customer address, customer phone number, or customer email address.
31 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the second order was placed before the first order within a predetermined time frame.
32 . The method of claim 29 , further comprising:
based on determining the item is available, transmitting a request to a mobile device associated with an inventory warehouse to package the item.
33 . The method of claim 32 , further comprising:
receiving shipping notifications from the inventory warehouse; receiving delivery updates from a delivery service; and transmitting the shipping notifications and the delivery updates to the customer device.
34 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the received order comprises the customer device identifier.
35 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the customer device identifier comprises at least one of an Internet Protocol (IP) address or a memory access control (MAC) address.
36 . The method of claim 29 , further comprising:
based on determining the compensation has not been provided for the item in the second order, transmitting a notification awarding compensation to the customer device.
37 . A computer-implemented system for fraud detection, the system comprising:
a memory storing instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to:
receive a first order comprising an item identifier a customer identifier, and a customer device identifier from a customer device;
determine if an item associated with the item identifier is available;
based on determining the item is not available, determine whether compensation has been provided to a customer account associated with at least one of the customer identifier or the customer device identifier for the item in a second order, the second order being placed before the first order within a predetermined time frame;
based on determining compensation has been provided for the item in a second order, transmit a notification denying compensation to the customer device.
38 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:
based on determining the item is available, transmit a request to a mobile device associated with an inventory warehouse to package the item; receive shipping notifications from the inventory warehouse; receive delivery updates from a delivery service; and transmit the shipping notifications and the delivery updates to the customer device.
39 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the customer device identifier comprises at least one of an Internet Protocol (IP) address or a memory access control (MAC) address.
40 . The system of claim 37 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:
based on determining the compensation has not been provided for the item in the second order, transmit a notification awarding compensation to the customer device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
