Abstract

A filter bag, comprising a body having an opening configured to accept bay leaves, herbs, spices, and other seasonings; a string having two ends, wherein a first end is attached to said body; and a tag attached to a second end of said string.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A filter bag, comprising:
 a body having an opening configured to accept bay leaves, herbs, spices, and other seasonings;   a string having two ends, wherein a first end is attached to said body; and   a tag attached to a second end of said string.   
     
     
         2 . The filter bag of  claim 1 , wherein said body is formed from two marginally adhered sheets of opposing, porous material. 
     
     
         3 . The filter bag of  claim 1 , wherein said string is made of a food-grade material. 
     
     
         4 . The filter bag of  claim 1 , wherein said bag is composed of a porous material. 
     
     
         5 . The filter bag of  claim 4 , wherein said bag is made from at least one of filter paper, food-grade plastic, cotton silk, or silk. 
     
     
         6 . The filter bag of  claim 4 , wherein said first end of said string is attached to said body via a first staple and said second end of said string is attached to said tag via a second staple. 
     
     
         7 . The filter bag of  claim 6 , wherein lateral edges of said body are stitched partway up the length of said body such that said opening is formed. 
     
     
         8 . The filter bag of  claim 7 , wherein said body is leaf shaped. 
     
     
         9 . The filter bag of  claim 7 , wherein said body is rectangular. 
     
     
         10 . A filter bag, comprising:
 a porous body containing an opening configured to accept bay leaves, herbs, spices, and other seasonings;   a string having a first end and a second end;   a tag;   a means for attaching said first end of said string to said porous body;   a means for attaching said second end of said string to said tag;   wherein said porous body is shaped like a bay leaf.
