Abstract

Tools, strategies, and techniques are provided for connecting an audience comprising artists of many different kinds with a wider audience of other users to engage in competitions, provide commentary, review communications, and perform other activities around works of art.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A network system for competitions involving works of art, the system comprising:
 an electronic processor programmed for executing at least one instruction; and   a set of instructions for:   initiating, by the processor, a competition between a first work of art and a second work of art.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a set of instructions determining winners of the competition in response to indications of preference. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a set of instructions for processing indications of preference. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a set of instructions enabling users to retrieve data including one or more competitions in the network system. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 4 , further comprising a set of instructions enabling users to submit at least one indication of preference. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a set of instructions enabling users to retrieve data of at least one competition at random. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a set of instructions enabling users to retrieve competition data returned from aggregation and/or sorting operations. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a set of instructions enabling users to submit data through a championship section. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a module programmed for displaying news associated with one or more competitions, works of art, artists, voters, or activities occurring within the network system. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , further comprising a module programmed for displaying news by one or more importance parameters. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a module programmed for enabling a retrieval of information of at least one work of art. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a module programmed for enabling—an online store transactions. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a set of instructions to collect, record, or analyze data associated with one or more transactions occurring within the system. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a module programmed for monitoring at least one transaction occurring within the network system and for communicating advertising content in accordance with monitoring the transaction. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , further comprising a module programmed for communicating tailored advertising content in response to at least a portion of user information collected in the network system. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a module programmed for executing at least one instruction to terminate a user interaction within the network system. 
     
     
         17 . A method for conducting competitions involving works of art, the method comprising: initiating, by a processor, a competition between a first work of art and a second work of art. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 17 , further comprising determining a winner of the competition between the first work of art and the second work of art in response to indications of preference. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 17 , further comprising processing indications of preference. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 17 , further comprising executing at least one instruction to terminate a user interaction.
