Abstract

A receiving apparatus for receiving system information in a radio access network comprises a receiver and processor circuitry. The receiver is configured to receive first system information and second system information, wherein a repetition period of the first system information is less than a repetition period of the second system information. The processor circuitry is configured to obtain from the first system information the timing information for receiving the second system information

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A receiving apparatus for receiving system information in a radio access network, the receiving apparatus comprising:
 a receiver configured to receive first system information and second system information, wherein a repetition period of the first system information is less than a repetition period of the second system information;   processor circuitry configured to obtain from the first system information the timing information for receiving the second system information.   
     
     
         2 . The receiving apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the first system information is received periodically. 
     
     
         3 . The receiving apparatus as of  claim 2 , wherein, the first system information is received after a predetermined time span, whereby the predetermined time span is a given number of transmission time intervals. 
     
     
         4 . The receiving apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the processor and receiver are configured to:
 receive, in the first system information, a master information block of a broadcast control logical channel via a broadcast transport channel;   receive, in the second system information, a system information block of the broadcast control logical channel via a shared transport channel;   obtain an indication of the shared transport channel on which the system information block of the second system information is transmitted from the master information block;   receive control information, on a control channel associated to the shared transport channel, that dynamically indicates at least one of parameters of scheduling, modulation, and transport block size of the system information block that is mapped on the shared transport channel that uses dynamically allocated resources;   receive the system information block via the shared transport channel according to the indication and at least one of the parameters of scheduling, modulation, and transport block size.   
     
     
         5 . The receiving apparatus of  claim 4 , wherein the control information further comprises transmission format information regarding the system information block that is mapped on the shared transport channel. 
     
     
         6 . The receiving apparatus of  claim 4 , wherein the control channel is a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). 
     
     
         7 . A method of receiving broadcast system information in a radio access network of a mobile communication system comprising:
 receiving first system information and second system information, wherein a repetition period of the first system information is less than a repetition period of the second system information;   obtaining from the first system information the timing information for receiving the second system information.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising receiving the first timing information block periodically. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising receiving the first timing information block after a predetermined time span, whereby the predetermined time span is a given number of transmission time intervals. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 receiving in the first system information a master information block of a broadcast control logical channel via a broadcast transport channel;   receiving in the second system information a system information block of the broadcast control logical channel via a shared transport channel;   obtaining an indication of the shared transport channel on which the system information block of the second system information is transmitted from the master information block;   receiving control information, on a control channel associated to the shared transport channel, that dynamically indicates at least one of parameters of scheduling, modulation, and transport block size of the system information block that is mapped on the shared transport channel that uses dynamically allocated resources;   receiving the system information block via the shared transport channel according to the indication and at least one of the parameters of scheduling, modulation, and transport block size.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the control information further comprises transmission format information regarding the system information block that is mapped on the shared transport channel. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the control channel is a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). 
     
     
         13 . A transmitting apparatus for transmitting system information in a radio access network, the transmitting apparatus comprising:
 a transmitter configured to transmit first system information and second system information, wherein a repetition period of the first system information is less than a repetition period of the second system information;   processor circuitry configured to include, in the first system information, the timing information for receiving the second system information.   
     
     
         14 . The transmitting apparatus of  claim 13 , wherein the first system information is transmitted periodically. 
     
     
         15 . The transmitting apparatus of  claim 14 , wherein, the first system information is transmitting after a predetermined time span, whereby the predetermined time span is a given number of transmission time intervals. 
     
     
         16 . The transmitting apparatus of  claim 13 , wherein the transmitter and receiver are configured to:
 transmit, in the first system information, a master information block of a broadcast control logical channel via a broadcast transport channel;   transmit, in the second system information, a system information block of the broadcast control logical channel via a shared transport channel;   include an indication of the shared transport channel on which the system information block of the second system information is transmitted from the master information block;   transmit control information, on a control channel associated to the shared transport channel, that dynamically indicates at least one of parameters of scheduling, modulation, and transport block size of the system information block that is mapped on the shared transport channel that uses dynamically allocated resources.   
     
     
         17 . The transmitting apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein the control information further comprises transmission format information regarding the system information block that is mapped on the shared transport channel. 
     
     
         18 . The transmitting apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein the control channel is a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). 
     
     
         19 . A method of transmitting broadcast system information in a radio access network of a mobile communication system comprising:
 transmitting first system information and second system information, wherein a repetition period of the first system information is less than a repetition period of the second system information;   including in the first system information the timing information for receiving the second system information.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19 , further comprising transmitting the first system information periodically.
