Abstract

Described embodiments automatically and dynamically deploy and undeploy virtual computing environments by using a schedule obtained from a user's personal, work, or shared team calendars. By using data such as out-of-office or auto-reply statuses, calendar items marked as “Out of Office”, and calendar items with specific keywords, the system may dynamically determine when a user is likely to be “present” (or capable of accessing or likely to access a virtual computing environment) or “absent” (or incapable of accessing or unlikely to access the virtual computing environment). The virtual computing environment may be dynamically deployed or undeployed responsive to and/or in anticipation of a user's presence or absence, providing cost savings and reduced bandwidth, power, and processor consumption, without increasing user frustration or requiring extra tasks.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 identifying, by a device, an event in a calendar of a user corresponding with a present time or location of the user;   determining, by the device, that the event indicates that a deployed resource is to be inaccessible to the user; and   causing, by the device, a second device to take an undeployment action for the deployed resource.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising determining, by the device, that the event indicates that a deployed resource is to be inaccessible to the user based at least on a history of events from the calendar of the user. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising determining, by the device, using a machine learning system trained with at least history of events from the calendar of the user. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the deployed resources comprises one of a virtual machine or a virtual computing environment. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising determining, by the device responsive to a second event in the calendar of the user subsequent to the event, that the undeployed resource is to be accessible to the user. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 6 , further comprising causing, by the device, the second device to take a deployment action for the undeployed resource. 
     
     
         7 . A method comprising:
 identifying, by a device, an event in a calendar of a user, the event associated with a time period;   determining, by the device, that the user will be present for the event and a deployable resource is to be accessible to the user via a computing device at least for the time period associated with the event; and   causing, by the device, the deployable resource to be deployed for access via the computing by the user for the time period associated with the event.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising determining, by the device, that the user will be present for the event via metadata identified with the event. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising transmitting, by the device, a request to another device to deploy the deployable resource. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising transmitting, by the device, configuration information of the deployable resource. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the deployable resource comprises one of a virtual machine or a virtual computing environment. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising causing, by the device, a selection of a service provider from a plurality of services providers to deploy the deployable resource. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , further comprising transmitting, by the device, a request to deploy the deployable resource to the selected service provider. 
     
     
         14 . A system comprising:
 a device comprising one or more processors, coupled to memory and configured to:   identify an event in a calendar of a user and a time period associated with the event;   determine that the user will be present for the event and a deployable resource is to be accessible to the user via a computing device at least for the time period associated with the event; and   cause the deployable resource to be deployed for access via the computing device by the user for the time period associated with the event.   
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the device is further configured to determine that the user will be present for the event via metadata identified with the event. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the device is further configured to transmit a request to another device to deploy the deployable resource. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 16 , wherein the device is further configured to transmit configuration information of the deployable resource. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the deployable resource comprises one of a virtual machine or a virtual computing environment. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the device is further configured to cause a selection of a service provider from a plurality of services providers to deploy the deployable resource. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 19 , wherein the device is further configured to transmit a request to deploy the deployable resource to the selected service provider.
