Endoscope cleaning device
Abstract
A device for cleaning a medical scope includes a container, a first tube, a second tube, a first nozzle, and a second nozzle. The container is configured to receive a first portion of the medical scope. The first tube and a second tube are configured to supply a liquid into the container for cleaning the first portion of the medical scope. Each tube is partially positioned within the container. A first nozzle is positioned at a first end of the first tube, and is configured to direct the liquid to a first crevice near an elevator of the medical scope. The second nozzle is positioned at a first end of the second tube, and is configured to direct the liquid to a second crevice near the elevator of the medical scope.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A device for cleaning a medical scope, the device comprising:
a container configured to receive a first portion of the medical scope; a first tube and a second tube configured to supply a liquid into the container for cleaning the first portion of the medical scope, each tube being partially positioned within the container; a first nozzle positioned at a first end of the first tube and configured to direct the liquid to a first crevice near an elevator of the medical scope; and a second nozzle positioned at a first end of the second tube and configured to direct the liquid to a second crevice near the elevator of the medical scope.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first tube and the second tube converge at a second end of each tube.
3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein a second portion of the medical scope is configured to remain external to the container.
4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first crevice and the second crevice are at opposite sides of the elevator of the medical scope.
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the first portion of the medical scope includes a tip of the medical scope.
6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the container includes a top cover and a bottom housing, and wherein each tube is partially positioned within the bottom housing of the container such that the first nozzle and the second nozzle are configured to generally face the top cover.
7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the container includes:
an opening for receiving the first portion of the medical scope; and a water seal rim for forming a water tight seal around the first portion of the medical scope.
8 . The device of claim 7 , wherein the container includes a top cover and a bottom housing, and wherein a first portion of the opening is positioned at the top cover and a second portion of the opening is positioned at the bottom housing.
9 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the opening is configured to hold the first portion of the medical scope such that the elevator of the medical scope generally faces the bottom housing.
10 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the opening is configured to hold the first portion of the medical scope such that the elevator of the medical scope does not rotate.
11 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a handle for positioning at least the first nozzle towards the first crevice near the elevator of the medical scope.
12 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the device is dimensioned such that the container is configured to only receive the first portion of the medical scope.
13 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the medical scope is a duodenoscope, a linear echoendoscope, or a side viewing endoscope.
14 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the liquid is pressurized, magnetic, or both.
15 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a vacuum configured to remove air and/or the liquid out of the container, wherein the vacuum is connected to the container through the first tube, the second tube, or both.
16 . A method of cleaning a medical scope, the method comprising:
inserting the medical scope into the device of claim 1 ; and actuating the device to clean the medical scope.
17 . A handheld device for cleaning a medical tool, the handheld device comprising:
a container configured to receive a first portion of the medical tool; a first tube and a second tube configured to supply a liquid into the container for cleaning the first portion of the medical tool, each tube being partially positioned within the container; a first nozzle positioned at a first end of the first tube and configured to direct the liquid towards the first portion of medical tool; a second nozzle positioned at a first end of the second tube and configured to direct the liquid towards the first portion of medical tool; a first handle configured to direct the first nozzle towards a first crevice near an elevator of the medical tool; and a second handle configured to direct the second nozzle towards a second crevice near the elevator of the medical tool.
18 . The handheld device of claim 17 , wherein the first handle and the second handle are the same.
19 . The handheld device of claim 17 , wherein a second portion of the medical tool is configured to remain external to the container.
20 . The handheld device of claim 17 , wherein the first tube and the second tube are coupled to different sides of the container.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
