Abstract
A fireproof composition is constituted as an aqueous composition and has at least one sugar and magnesium chloride. The fireproof composition can be used for application to products to protect against fire, and can also be used for extinguishing forest, domestic, and/or industrial fires. A method for the preparation of the fireproof composition includes dissolving the at least one sugar and the magnesium chloride in water to form a solution, and adjusting the pH of the solution to between 6.0 and 7.5.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A fireproof composition for application to products to protect against fire, said fireproof composition constituted as an aqueous composition comprising at least one sugar and magnesium chloride (MgCl 2 ).
2 . The fireproof composition according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one sugar is selected from the group consisting of fructose, dextrose, glucose, sucrose, maltose, isomaltose, and sugars contained in molasses.
3 . The fireproof composition according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one sugar has a concentration of between 150 g/l and 1000 g/l in said composition.
4 . The fireproof composition according to claim 3 , wherein said at least one sugar has a concentration of between 200 g/l and 400 g/l in said composition.
5 . The fireproof composition according to claim 1 , wherein said magnesium chloride has a concentration of between 50 g/l and 580 g/l in said composition.
6 . The fireproof composition according to claim 5 , wherein said magnesium chloride has a concentration of between 200 g/l and 300 g/l in said composition.
7 . The fireproof composition according to claim 1 , wherein said fireproof composition additionally comprises a corrosion inhibitor.
8 . The fireproof composition according to claim 1 , wherein said fireproof composition has a final pH of between 6.0 and 7.5.
9 . The fireproof composition according to claim 1 , wherein said fireproof composition is free from halogen atoms, particularly fluoride or bromine atoms, and from sulphate or phosphate atoms.
10 . The fireproof composition according to claim 1 , wherein said fireproof composition additionally comprises light magnesium carbonate.
11 . The fireproof composition according to claim 1 , wherein said fireproof composition has a density of between 0.8 kg/l and 1.1 kg/l.
12 . A method for preparing the fireproof composition according to claims 1 , the method comprising:
a) obtaining at least one sugar; b) obtaining magnesium chloride;
c) dissolving the components of steps a) and b) in water to obtain a solution; and
d) adjusting a pH of the solution obtained in c) to between 6.0 and 7.5.
13 . The method according to claim 12 , further comprising adding light magnesium carbonate in step b).
14 . A method for preventing damage caused by a fire, the method comprising:
extinguishing the fire by applying the fireproof composition according to claim 1 to the fire.
15 . The method according to claim 14 , wherein the fire is a forest, domestic, industrial fire.
16 . The method according to claim 15 , wherein the fire is a forest fire, and the fireproof composition is applied from an airplane, hydroplane, or helicopter.
17 . The method according to claim 15 , wherein the fire is a domestic or industrial fire and the fireproof composition is applied from an installation having pipes.
18 . The method according to claim 15 , wherein the fire is a domestic or industrial fire and the fireproof composition is applied from a fire engine or motor pump.
19 . A method for protecting a product against fire, comprising applying the fireproof composition according to claim 1 to the product prior to occurrence of the fire.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
