Abstract

A grocery bag carrying assembly for carrying a plurality of plastic bags includes a grip that is hollow and the grip has a slot extending into an interior of the grip to insertably receive handles of a plastic bag. In this way the grip facilitates a user to carry a plurality of plastic bags with one hand. A pad is positioned in the grip and the handles of the plastic bags rest thereon when the handle of the plastic bags is positioned in the grip. Moreover, the pad is comprised of an abrasive material to inhibit the handle of the plastic bags from sliding along the pad.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
I claim:

1 . A grocery bag carrying assembly for insertably receiving handles of grocery bags to enhance a user's ability to carry multiple grocery bags, said assembly comprising:
a grip being hollow, said grip having a slot extending into an interior of said grip to insertably receive handles of a plastic bag wherein said grip is configured to facilitate a user to carry a plurality of plastic bags with one hand; and a pad being positioned in said grip wherein said pad is configured to have the handle of the plastic bags rest thereon when the handle of the plastic bags is positioned in said grip, said pad being comprised of an abrasive material wherein said pad is configured to inhibit the handle of the plastic bags from sliding along said pad.

2 . The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said grip has a bottom wall and a pair of sidewalls, each of said sidewalls extending upwardly from a perimeter edge of said bottom wall, each of said sidewalls extending along a full length of said bottom wall, each of said sidewalls having a distal edge with respect to said bottom wall and an inward surface, said inward surface of each of said sidewalls being directed toward each other.

3 . The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein each of said sidewalls is bent inwardly adjacent to said distal edge such that said distal edge of each of said sidewalls is directed toward each other, each of said sidewalls being concavely arcuate with respect to each other such that said distal edge of each of said sidewalls is biased to toward each other, said grip being comprised of a resiliently bendable material thereby facilitating said distal edge of each of said sidewalls to be urged apart from each other to define said slot extending between said sidewalls.

4 . The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein each of said sidewalls has a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, each of said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge of each of said sidewalls angling inwardly between said bottom wall of said grip and said distal edge of said sidewalls such that said grip has a trapezoidal cross section taken along a line extending through each of said sidewalls.

5 . The assembly according to claim 4 , wherein said inward surface of each of said sidewalls has a ridge extending outwardly therefrom, said ridge on said inward surface of each of said sidewalls being aligned said distal edge of said sidewalls, said ridge tapering to a point, said point defined by said ridge on each of said sidewalls abutting each other.

6 . The assembly according to claim 5 , wherein said ridge on each of said sidewalls has an upper surface, said upper surface of said ridge on each of said sidewalls sloping downwardly between said distal edge of said sidewall and said point, said upper surface of said ridge on each of said sidewalls defining a channel wherein said channel is configured to enhance extending the handles of the plastic bags between said sidewalls.

7 . The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said bottom wall has a lower surface, said lower surface having a plurality of depressions therein, said depressions being spaced apart from each other and being distributed along said bottom wall wherein each of said depressions is configured to have a respective one of the user's fingers positioned therein for enhancing gripping said grip.

8 . The assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said pad is positioned on an upper surface of said bottom wall having said pad being positioned between said sidewalls, said pad extending along a full length of said bottom wall.

9 . A grocery bag carrying assembly for insertably receiving handles of grocery bags to enhance a user's ability to carry multiple grocery bags, said assembly comprising:
a grip being hollow, said grip having a slot extending into an interior of said grip to insertably receive handles of a plastic bag wherein said grip is configured to facilitate a user to carry a plurality of plastic bags with one hand, said grip having a bottom wall and a pair of sidewalls, each of said sidewalls extending upwardly from a perimeter edge of said bottom wall, each of said sidewalls extending along a full length of said bottom wall, each of said sidewalls having a distal edge with respect to said bottom wall and an inward surface, said inward surface of each of said sidewalls being directed toward each other, each of said sidewalls being bent inwardly adjacent to said distal edge such that said distal edge of each of said sidewalls is directed toward each other, each of said sidewalls being concavely arcuate with respect to each other such that said distal edge of each of said sidewalls is biased toward each other, said grip being comprised of a resiliently bendable material thereby facilitating said distal edge of each of said sidewalls to be urged apart from each other to define said slot extending between said sidewalls, each of said sidewalls having a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge, each of said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge of each of said sidewalls angling inwardly between said bottom wall of said grip and said distal edge of said sidewalls such that said grip has a trapezoidal cross section taken along a line extending through each of said sidewalls, said inward surface of each of said sidewalls having a ridge extending outwardly therefrom, said ridge on said inward surface of each of said sidewalls being aligned said distal edge of said sidewalls, said ridge tapering to a point, said point defined by said ridge on each of said sidewalls abutting each other, said ridge on each of said sidewalls having an upper surface, said upper surface of said ridge on each of said sidewalls sloping downwardly between said distal edge of said sidewall and said point, said upper surface of said ridge on each of said sidewalls defining a channel wherein said channel is configured to enhance extending the handles of the plastic bags between said sidewalls, said bottom wall having a lower surface, said lower surface having a plurality of depressions therein, said depressions being spaced apart from each other and being distributed along said bottom wall wherein each of said depressions is configured to have a respective one of the user's fingers positioned therein for enhancing gripping said grip; and a pad being positioned in said grip wherein said pad is configured to have the handle of the plastic bags rest thereon when the handle of the plastic bags is positioned in said grip, said pad being comprised of an abrasive material wherein said pad is configured to inhibit the handle of the plastic bags from sliding along said pad, said pad being positioned on an upper surface of said bottom wall having said pad being positioned between said sidewalls, said pad extending along a full length of said bottom wall.
