Abstract

A wearable medical device comprises a garment configured to be worn about a torso of a patient. The wearable medical device further comprises a CPR sensor for detecting a characteristic of a CPR therapy provided to the patient. The CPR sensor is coupled to the garment to provide movement between a stowed position and a deployed position. The CPR sensor is positioned at a center of a chest of the patient when the CPR sensor is in the deployed position. The wearable medical device further comprises an output device. The wearable medical device further comprises a processor configured for processing information from the CPR sensor and providing, to the output device, information about the CPR therapy provided to the patient.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 90 . (canceled)

         91 . A wearable medical device, comprising:
a garment configured to be worn about a torso of a patient; a CPR sensor for detecting a characteristic of a CPR therapy provided to the patient, the CPR sensor being coupled to the garment to provide movement between a stowed position and a deployed position, wherein the CPR sensor is positioned at a center of a chest of the patient when the CPR sensor is in the deployed position; an output device; and a processor configured for processing information from the CPR sensor and providing, to the output device, information about the CPR therapy provided to the patient.

92 . The wearable medical device of claim 91 , wherein:
the garment comprises a flap; and the flap and the CPR sensor are configured to allow for the movement between the stowed position and the deployed position.

93 . The wearable medical device of claim 92 , wherein:
the garment further comprises a belt; the flap is attached to the belt; and the movement causes the flap to fold away from the belt and be positioned at a location above a xiphoid process of the patient.

94 . The wearable medical device of claim 92 , wherein the characteristic of the CPR therapy comprises one or more of a chest compression depth or a chest compression rate.

95 . The wearable medical device of claim 92 , wherein the CPR sensor is attached to the flap using a hook-and-loop fastener.

96 . The wearable medical device of claim 92 , wherein the processor is further configured to provide, via the output device, instructions for a rescuer to move the CPR sensor from the stowed position to the deployed position before initiating the CPR therapy.

97 . The wearable medical device of claim 92 , wherein:
the garment comprises a belt and a shoulder strap; and the flap is attached to the belt.

98 . The wearable medical device of claim 97 , wherein the flap and the CPR sensor are positioned in front of the belt when the CPR sensor is in the stowed position.

99 . The wearable medical device of claim 92 , wherein the flap is pivotable between the stowed position and the deployed position.

100 . The wearable medical device of claim 91 , wherein the garment comprises a pocket configured to receive the CPR sensor when the CPR sensor is in the stowed position.

101 . The wearable medical device of claim 100 , wherein the CPR sensor is configured to wirelessly communicate with the processor.

102 . The wearable medical device of claim 100 , wherein the garment further comprises a pivoting flap having the CPR sensor attached thereto.

103 . The wearable medical device of claim 102 , wherein the CPR sensor is attached to the pivoting flap using a snap fastener.

104 . The wearable medical device of claim 100 , wherein:
the garment comprises a waistband and a shoulder strap; and the pocket is provided on the waistband.

105 . The wearable medical device of claim 104 , wherein the CPR sensor is positioned at a central portion of the waistband when the CPR sensor is in the stowed position.

106 . The wearable medical device of claim 104 , wherein the waistband is positioned over a rib of the patient when the patient wears the garment.

107 . The wearable medical device of claim 100 , wherein the characteristic of the CPR therapy comprises one or more of a chest compression depth or a chest compression rate.

108 . The wearable medical device of claim 100 , wherein the processor is further configured to provide, via the output device, instructions for a rescuer to remove the CPR sensor from the pocket and position the CPR sensor in the deployed position before initiating the CPR therapy.

109 . The wearable medical device of claim 91 , wherein the processor is further configured to provide, via the output device, instructions for a rescuer to move the CPR sensor from the stowed position to the deployed position before initiating the CPR therapy.

110 . The wearable medical device of claim 91 , wherein the CPR sensor is configured to wirelessly communicate with the processor.
