Cleaning kit with flexible cleaning pad

Abstract

A kit for cleaning a room or region that includes a mop device having a mop device fastening member and at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad and a method for performing cleaning operations using the same. The flexible elongated cleaning pad has a first cleaning pad face and a second cleaning pad face opposed to the first cleaning pad face. The first cleaning pad face has microfiber content and the second cleaning pad face is configured to releasably contact either the mop device hook and loop fastening member or the high duster device hook and loop fastener member.

1 . A kit for cleaning a room or region, the kit comprising:
 a mop device having at least one mop device fastening member;   a high duster device having at least one high duster fastening member;   at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad, the flexible elongated cleaning pad having first cleaning pad face and a second cleaning pad face opposed to the first cleaning pad face, the first cleaning pad face having microfiber content and the second cleaning pad face configured to releasably contact either the at least one mop device fastening member or the at least one high duster device fastening member.   
     
     
         2 . The kit of  claim 1  wherein the high duster device comprises a high duster handle member and an elongated extension member, the elongated extension member having a first extension member face and a second extension member face opposed to the first extension member face, two elongate side edge surfaces, the elongate side edge surfaces opposed to one another and a first end surface and a second end surface, the first end surface and the second end surface opposed to one and interposed between the respective elongate side edge surfaces, wherein the handle member is connected to the elongated extension member at a location proximate to one of the two end surfaces and wherein the high duster hook and loop fastening member is connected to the first extension member face. 
     
     
         3 . The kit of  claim 2  wherein the elongated extension member of the high duster fastener member is an elongate member extending parallel to and interposed between the two elongate side edges of the elongated extension member. 
     
     
         4 . The kit of  claim 3  wherein a portion of the second flexible elongated cleaning pad surface is in releasable contact with the high duster fastener member and the first flexible elongated cleaning pad face is outwardly oriented when in a use position. 
     
     
         5 . The kit of  claim 3  wherein the high duster device further includes an adjustable junction member interposed between the elongated extension member and the high duster handle. 
     
     
         6 . The kit of  claim 5  wherein the elongated extension member is a rectangular member having a length value L E  and a width value W P  and wherein the at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad is a rectangular member having a length value L P  and a width value W P , wherein L P  has a value equal to or greater than L E  and W P  has a value of twice W P  or greater. 
     
     
         7 . The kit of  claim 1  wherein the mop device comprises a handle and an elongate planar member, the elongate planar member having a first planar member face and a second planar member face opposed to the first planar member face, wherein the handle is connected to the second planar member face and the fastening member is connected to the first planar member face. 
     
     
         8 . The kit of  claim 7  wherein the elongate planar member is rectangular member having a length value L M  and a width value W M , wherein at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad is a rectangular member having a length value L P  and a width value W P , wherein L P  has a value equal to or greater than L M  and W M  is equal to or greater than a value of twice W P  or greater. 
     
     
         9 . The kit of  claim 1  wherein the at least one flexible cleaning pad includes between 5% and 100% microfiber material on the first cleaning pad face. 
     
     
         10 . The kit of  claim 9  wherein the at least one flexible cleaning pad further comprises at least one polymeric foam layer connected to the microfiber layer. 
     
     
         11 . The kit of  claim 9  wherein the microfiber material on the first cleaning face is composed in whole or in part of microfiber material having a linear density of less than 1 denier per filament (dpf). 
     
     
         12 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein the mop device comprises;
 a mop head; and   a mop handle attached to the mop head, wherein the mop head has a first face and a second face, the second face opposed to the first face, the second face connected to the mop hand and the first face configured to overly the surface to be cleaned when the mop device is in the use position, the first face of the mop device configured to be releasably connected to at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad in an extended flat orientation.   
     
     
         13 . The kit of  claim 11  wherein the first face of the mop head is configured to accommodate at least two flexible cleaning pads in an end-to-end relationship. 
     
     
         14 . A kit for cleaning a room or region, the kit comprising:
 a mop device having at least one mop device fastening member;   a high duster device having at least one high duster fastening member;   at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad, the flexible elongated cleaning pad having first cleaning pad face and a second cleaning pad face opposed to the first cleaning pad face, the first cleaning pad face having microfiber content and the second cleaning pad face configured to releasably contact either the at least one mop device fastening member or the at least one high duster device fastening member. wherein the at least one flexible cleaning pad includes between 5% and 100% microfiber material on the first cleaning pad face.   
     
     
         15 . The kit of  claim 14  wherein the high duster device comprises a high duster handle member and an elongated extension member, the elongated extension member having a first extension member face and a second extension member face opposed to the first extension member face, two elongate side edge surfaces, the elongate side edge surfaces opposed to one another and a first end surface and a second end surface, the first end surface and the second end surface opposed to one and interposed between the respective elongate side edge surfaces, wherein the handle member is connected to the elongated extension member at a location proximate to one of the two end surfaces and wherein the high duster hook and loop fastening member is connected to the first extension member face. 
     
     
         16 . A method for cleaning a room or region, the room or region having a floor surface, the method comprising the steps of:
 deploying the kit of  claim 1 ;   affixing the at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad to the hook and loop fastening member located on the high duster;   performing high dusting operations in the room or region;   after the high dusting operations are completed, removing the flexible elongated cleaning pad from contact with the hook and loop fastening member located on the high duster and fastening the removed flexible elongated cleaning pad for the hook and loop fastener located on the mop device; and   performing cleaning operations on the floor surface.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 13  wherein the high duster device comprises a handle member and a an elongated extension member, the elongated extension member having a first extension member face and a second extension member face opposed to the first extension member face, two elongate side edge surfaces, the elongate side edge surfaces opposed to one another and a first end surface and a second end surface, the first end surface and the second end surface opposed to one another and interposed between the respective elongate side edge surfaces, wherein the handle member is connected to the elongated extension member at a location proximate to one of the two end surfaces and wherein the high duster hook and loop fastening member is connected to the first extension member face. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 13  wherein the elongated extension member of the high duster fastener member is an elongate member extending parallel to and interposed between the two elongate side edges of the elongated extension member, wherein the elongated extension member of the high duster fastener member is an elongate member extending parallel to and interposed between the two elongate side edges of the elongated extension member and wherein the elongate planar member is rectangular member having a length value L M  and a width value W M , wherein at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad is a rectangular member having a length value L P  and a width value W P , wherein L P  has a value equal to or greater than L M  and W M  is equal to or greater than a value of twice W P  or greater. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 16  wherein a portion of the second flexible elongated cleaning pad surface is in releasable contact with the high duster fastener member and the first flexible elongated cleaning is outwardly oriented when in a use position. 
     
     
         20 . The kit of  claim 15  wherein the elongated extension member is a rectangular member having a length value L E  and a width value W P  and wherein the at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad is a rectangular member having a length value L P  and a width value W P , wherein L P  has a value equal to or greater than L E  and W P  has a value of twice W P  or greater, and wherein the mop device comprises a handle and an elongate planar member, the elongate planar member having a first planar member face and a second planar member face opposed to the first planar member face, wherein the handle is connected to the second planar member face and the fastening member is connected to the first planar member face, wherein the elongate planar member is rectangular member having a length value L M  and a width value W M , wherein at least one flexible elongated cleaning pad is a rectangular member having a length value L P  and a width value W P , wherein L P  has a value equal to or greater than L M  and W M  is equal to or greater than a value of twice W P  or greater.
