Adjustable Fitted Bed Sheet

Abstract

An adjustable fitted bed sheet for a first sized mattress and a second sized mattress, the adjustable fitted bed sheet comprising a first top portion and at least one second top portion, the first top portion configured to substantially cover a top of a first sized mattress, and the first top portion and the at least one second top portions configured to substantially cover a top of a second sized mattress. The adjustable fitted bed sheet may include a number of elastic stitch elements having a coefficient of elasticity that may differ from another. A bottom peripheral edge portion is also provided that defines a hollow cylindrical edge portion substantially parallel to the bottom peripheral edge portion. A securing apparatus may also be provided that is configured to reciprocally engage at least one aperture defined by the bottom peripheral edge portion.

1 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet for a first sized mattress and a second sized mattress, the adjustable fitted bed sheet comprising:
 a first top portion configured to substantially cover a top of a first sized mattress, the top of the first mattress being defined by a length and a width of the first sized mattress, wherein at least one of the length, width, and/or height of the first sized mattress differs from a length, width, and/or height of the second sized mattress, wherein the first top portion is defined by a substantially rectangular area defined, in part, by a plurality of intersections between sets of a first elastic stitch element and a second elastic stitch element, wherein the first elastic stitch element includes a first elastomer material having a different coefficient of elasticity than a coefficient of elasticity of a second elastomer material of the second elastic stitch element;   at least one second top portion, the second top portions, in cooperation with the first top portion, being configured to substantially cover a top of the second sized mattress, the top of the second sized mattress being defined by the length and the width of the second sized mattress, wherein the second top portions are defined by a substantially rectangular area defined, in part, by a plurality of intersections between a pair of first elastic stitch elements;   a bottom peripheral edge portion, wherein the bottom peripheral edge portion is defined by bottom edge portions of the bed sheet that intersect with a plurality of distal ends of a respective third elastic stitch element, wherein the bottom peripheral edge portion further defines a hollow cylindrical edge portion substantially parallel to the bottom peripheral edge portion; and   a securing apparatus configured to reciprocally engage at least one aperture defined by the bottom peripheral edge portion.   
     
     
         2 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet according to  claim 1 , wherein an inner surface of the hollow cylindrical edge portion further comprises a low drag substrate material. 
     
     
         3 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet according to  claim 1 , wherein the securing apparatus further comprises an adjustable closed loop reciprocally engaged with the hollow cylindrical edge portion of the bottom peripheral edge portion. 
     
     
         4 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet according to  claim 3 , wherein the adjustable closed loop is further reciprocally engaged with at least one of the at least one aperture defined by the bottom peripheral edge portion. 
     
     
         5 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet according to  claim 1 , wherein the bottom edge portions further include a substrate layer configured to reciprocally engage a bottom of a first and a second sized mattress, wherein the substrate layer has a greater coefficient of friction than the bottom edge portions. 
     
     
         6 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet according to  claim 1  further comprising a secondary top sheet. 
     
     
         7 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet according to  claim 6 , wherein the secondary top sheet is securely affixed to at least one portion of the bottom edge portion. 
     
     
         8 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet according to  claim 6 , wherein a secondary top sheet bottom edge is securely affixed to at least one portion of the bottom edge portion of the adjustable fitted bed sheet. 
     
     
         9 . An adjustable fitted bed sheet according to  claim 8 , wherein at least a portion of a secondary top sheet left edge and a secondary top sheet right edge are removably attached to at least one bottom edge portion of the adjustable fitted bed sheet.
