Automatic location based discovery of extended inventory
Abstract
In various example embodiments, systems and methods for automatic location based discovery of variations of displayed items in a store are presented. In some embodiments, a beacon ID associated with a beacon device located at a store is received. In other embodiments, at least one product identifier associated with the beacon ID and representing one or more of store displayed items available for sale by the store is determined. In further embodiments, product variations of the one or more store displayed items available for sale by the store are identified associated with the at least one product identifier. In another embodiment, display information representing the product variations of the one or more store displayed items available for sale by the store is provided.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A mobile device comprising:
a processor; and a memory storing instructions that configure the processor to perform operations comprising: providing a first location of the mobile device to a beacon device, the beacon device being positioned within a first distance of an item located at a second location within a merchant store; activating an ecommerce marketplace application stored on the mobile device; receiving information associated with a product variation of the item based at least in part on the first location and the second location; generating an item display interface comprising graphical display elements representing the product variation, the item, and the second location within the merchant store; and causing display of the item display interface by the ecommerce marketplace application for a time period associated with the mobile device being within a second distance of the first location.
2 . The mobile device of claim 1 , further comprising:
identifying second product variations; and providing, via the beacon device, information representing the second product variations to the mobile device.
3 . The mobile device of claim 1 , further comprising:
causing display of a recommendation based on the item selected in the display interface.
4 . The mobile device of claim 3 , wherein the recommendation comprises at least one complementary item in associated with the item.
5 . The mobile device of claim 1 , the operations further comprising identifying a product identifier of the product available for sale, wherein the product variations are determined based on the product identifier.
6 . The mobile device of claim 1 , the operations further comprising determining that the product variation is within a proximity of the item available for sale.
7 . The mobile device of claim 1 , the operations further comprising determining that the product variation is available in an inventory of an online ecommerce marketplace, and conditioning the providing of the information on the availability.
8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein responsive to providing the first location of the mobile device, determining that the mobile device is within a proximity of the beacon device.
9 . A method comprising:
providing a first location of the mobile device to a beacon device, the beacon device being positioned within a first distance of an item located at a second location within a merchant store; activating an ecommerce marketplace application stored on the mobile device; receiving information associated with a product variation of the item based at least in part on the first location and the second location; generating an item display interface comprising graphical display elements representing the product variation, the item, and the second location within the merchant store; and causing display of the item display interface by the ecommerce marketplace application for a time period associated with the mobile device being within a second distance of the first location.
10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
receiving, from a second beacon device, a second beacon ID and the identifier of the mobile device; determining a second item located near the second beacon device; identifying second product variations of the second item; and providing, via the second beacon device, information representing the second product variations to the mobile device based on the received second beacon identifier and the identifier of the mobile device.
11 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:
causing display of a recommendation based on the item selected in the display interface.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the recommendation comprises at least one complementary item in associated with the item.
13 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising identifying a product identifier of the product available for sale based on the beacon device.
14 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising determining whether the product variation is within a proximity of the item available for sale; and conditioning the providing of the information on the proximity of the product variation to the item available for sale.
15 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising determining that the product variation is available in an inventory of an online ecommerce marketplace, and conditioning the providing of the information on the availability.
16 . The method of claim 9 , wherein responsive to providing the first location of the mobile device, determining that the mobile device is within a proximity of the beacon device.
17 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions that when executed by a computer processor configure hardware processing circuitry to perform operations comprising:
providing a first location of the mobile device to a beacon device, the beacon device being positioned within a first distance of an item located at a second location within a merchant store; activating an ecommerce marketplace application stored on the mobile device; receiving information associated with a product variation of the item based at least in part on the first location and the second location; generating an item display interface comprising graphical display elements representing the product variation, the item, and the second location within the merchant store; and causing display of the item display interface by the ecommerce marketplace application for a time period associated with the mobile device being within a second distance of the first location.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 17 , the operations further comprising:
receiving, from a second beacon device, a second beacon ID and the identifier of the mobile device; determining a second item located near the second beacon device; identifying second product variations of the second item; and providing, via the second beacon device, information representing the second product variations to the mobile device based on the received second beacon identifier.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 17 , the operations further comprising:
causing display of a recommendation based on the item selected in the display interface, wherein the recommendation comprises at least one complementary item in associated with the item.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 17 , the operations further comprising identifying a product identifier of the product available for sale based on the beacon identifier, wherein the product variations are determined based on the product identifier.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
