Protein Kinase RNA-Like Endoplasmic Reticulum Kinase (PERK) Inhibitors for Prevention and/or Treatment of Lung Injury and/or Inflammation

Abstract

Disclosed herein are methods of preventing and/or treating lung injury and/or lung inflammation in a subject comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective dose of a PERK pathway inhibitor. Pharmaceutical compositions for the prevention and/or treatment of lung injury and/or lung inflammation comprising PERK pathway inhibitors are also provided. Also disclosed are uses of a PERK inhibitor in the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention and/or treatment of a lung injury and/or inflammation.

A method of treating lung injury and/or lung inflammation in a subject comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective dose of a PERK pathway inhibitor to treat the lung injury and/or inflammation, wherein the PERK pathway inhibitor comprises an siRNA that inhibits expression of PERK. 
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the lung injury comprises acute respiratory distress syndrome or ventilator-induced lung injury.

A method of preventing lung injury and/or lung inflammation in a subject comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective dose of a PERK pathway inhibitor to prevent the lung injury and/or inflammation, wherein the PERK pathway inhibitor comprises an siRNA that inhibits expression of PERK.
