Replaceable Seat Pocket Assembly

Abstract

A replaceable seat pocket assembly for a valve includes a first portion configured to couple the replaceable seat pocket assembly to a valve body within a recess of the valve, and a second portion coupled to said first portion and configured for engagement with said valve body. The replaceable seat pocket assembly may provide an interface between a valve seat and the valve body.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A replaceable seat pocket assembly for a valve that comprises a valve body comprising a recess forming a replaceable seat pocket interface; said replaceable seat pocket assembly comprising:
 a first portion configured to couple said replaceable seat pocket assembly to said valve body within said recess; and   a second portion coupled to said first portion and configured for engagement with said valve body;   wherein said replaceable seat pocket assembly comprises an interface between a valve seat and said valve body.   
     
     
         2 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein said replaceable seat pocket assembly forms a seat pocket configured to engage said valve seat within said valve body. 
     
     
         3 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 1 , further comprising a seal disposed between said second portion and said valve body. 
     
     
         4 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 3 , wherein said seal is an elastomeric seal. 
     
     
         5 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 3 , wherein said seal is a metal-to-metal seal. 
     
     
         6 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein said first portion has an outer diameter greater than the outer diameter of said second portion. 
     
     
         7 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 6 , wherein said first portion is adapted to engage a landing step within said recess of said valve body. 
     
     
         8 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 1 , further comprising a rotation lock configured to inhibit rotation of said replaceable seat pocket assembly with respect to said valve body. 
     
     
         9 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one of said first portion and said second portion comprises one or more load slots for engagement with a torque tool. 
     
     
         10 . The replaceable seat pocket assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein said first portion further comprises a threaded outer circumferential wall configured to couple said replaceable seat pocket assembly to a corresponding threaded portion of said valve body within said recess.
